I feel like this is talked about every pre season. Pre season wins does not always equal regular season wins.

1992 Dallas 2-3 in Pre Season= Super Bowl
1993 Dallas 1-3 in Pre Season= Super Bowl
1995 Dalls 2-3 in Pre Season = Super Bowl

2022 KC 2--1 in Pre Season = Super Bowl
2021 Rams 0-3 in Pre Season = Super Bowl
2019 KC 1-3 in Pre Season = Super Bowl

Stopped looking after that.

Essentially we all know pre season wins mean nothing. Even more so in today's NFL with how teams treat pre season.

Which veteran starter that didn't play needs a preseason game to get to game speed, in your opinion?
I didn't have any specific player(s) in mind. The starters. They're going to have to get to game speed before week 1, right?

BREAKING NEWS: THE COWBOYS ALWAYS LOSE IN THE PRE-SEASON, yet we've had some great 12 win seasons recently!!
haven't read through everything on this thread. but I am sure somebody is going to mention SF game, blah blah blah and perhaps we should have starters play pre-season. blah blah blah

Most should minus Dak
not sure I agree.....with 17 game season. risking injury to parsons or smiths would be devastating....that's partly why the league wanted another regular season games and less focus on PS. because player were getting injure and fans were complaining about exorbitant ticket prices for meaningless PS games.

Here’s what the results of a pre-season game indicate about any NFL team in the upcoming regular season:
  • Nothing
  • Nada
  • Zero
In the 2021 pre-season, the Cowboys went 0-4, then went on to a 12-5 regular season. Last year the Cowboys lost their first ps game by 10 at Denver and finished the PS 2-1, went in to another 12-5 season. Anyone remember that great 4-0 preseason the Cowboys had in ‘89? They went on to a 1-15 regular season stinker.

Again…preseason game results mean nothing about what a team will be when the real games start.

Wait, people actually care if we lose a preseason game? Seriously? My biggest concern is usually just avoiding injuries and how the bubble guys and rookies look. The old adage to never get too high no too low has never had more meaning than when talking about Preseason NFL games. Just my two cents...

One season, the NYG won all 5 preseason games and the media was all about them. Until they started the season 0-4.

Each team has goals for the preseason and some are just get through it in one piece.

No such thing as losing in preseason. It's just a scrimmage.
Exacto. Watching the camera pan the losing team's sidelines during the game's final minute, Cowboys veterans in clean uniforms smiling and joking, can tell you so much about the preseason.

Amazing we need to even have this discussion over games that don’t count and aren’t trying to win. Lol

More evidence some fans don’t have a clue or more likely trolling .

I sure wish I could steer clear of preseason gameday threads! :D

:(
We can by just not looking in. These 3 weeks most meaningless discussions unless we are discussing or evaluating particular players performance trying to make the team.

If Dallas had lost as bad as San Francisco did ,everyone would be saying Dallas-stinks 7-10 seasons here it comes!
There are a lot of predictable things associated with pre-season and messageboards,,, this OP post calling out people for example!

more than likely not

Dallas uses preseason for depth players

some starters may see a series MAYBE...not parsons, diggs, lve, gilmore maybe Dak maybe pollard
I think Dak has been ruled out of preseason. I'm not sure if Pollard gets to play either coming back from injury.
