I have been reading a lot about how our offseason has sucked and we havent done anything to help the team. We are ranked very low on all the preseason polls,etc... Some of our gains and losses....

Gains:
1.KOSIER-Obviously a huge contributer and brains behind the Oline.He is a gain,we didnt have him last year.

2.FELIX-No Need To Explain

3.MCBRIAR-Possibly the best punter in the NFL

4.KITNA-Finally a true backup QB that can win.If we had him last year we are in playoffs.

5.BARBER-Hurt all December

6.NEW SPECIAL TEAMS COACH-No Need To Explain

7.AUSTIN-Injured most of last season

8.SENSABAUGH-From what I have read this guy can ball,imagine that,a safety that can cover.

9.ALL THE DRAFT PICKS-Special teams right off the bat,along with some potential playmakers

10.NEWMAN=Healthy finally,crosses fingers

Losses:

1.TO=He has lost a step, but its a big loss no matter how u cut it.TO is a baller.

2.ZACH THOMAS-The midget can tackle,but Brookings is about the same

3.TANK=rubbish

4.PAC=Cant get his head out of his rear

5.CANTY=DECENT,Olshansky about the same

6.BURNETT=glass

7.RW38=rubbish

8.HENRY=Could have played safety,sucks at CB,Kitna is a better pickup

The Gains outweigh the Losses by a distance. If we stay healthy we have a lot to look forward to.:star:

This is what it all hinges on, and the reason national pundits really believe our off-season sucked. They do not believe we can be a better team without Owens.

I believe we can (last year's output by him is really not that hard to replace), but don't know if we will. A lot of it is going to come down, offensively, to play-calling. If we make better use of what we have, we can be a much better team than we were last year.

Give me Burnett over Brooking any day of the week.

Care to explain why? I'd love to know why anyone would think this.

Because Brooking is done.

I guess we'll see...but his 102 tackles last year suggests otherwise. That's only 49 more tackles than Burnett's career high.

That's probably his only strong point right now. All of his stats have dropped off. I've visited the Falcon's message board to see what they had to say. Many were happy to see him leave. Too much of a liability in coverage, lost a step, etc. They are already talking about exploiting him vs us, in our match up this coming season (lol). I know we'll probably be taking him out on passing downs but that doesn't mean he won't be passed on at all.

can you guarantee Burnett on the field to get the production you think he has?

The tackles? No. Ints, sacks, pass defensed, and coverage..probably. I think he can make it through a full season.

I don't think Henry could of even played safety here. I've noticed him being less and less physical during the whole course of the season. He was really becoming worthless IMO.

I was really excited when we drafted Kevin Burnett and it bummed me out that he never earned the coaching staff's trust to become a starter.

We were willing to keep him at San Diego's price, but Burn was eager to go somewhere else for a chance to start.

I'm not a Keith Brooking fan because he's a stop gap player from another team. But he does know Wade Phillips' scheme and should be a solid two down performer inside until a younger option is ready for the job.

There's definitely some truth to that. I'm by no means expecting to see the pro bowl Brooking, but I doubt we'll notice any drop off. Thomas was OK last year, but I'd expect Brooking to have better success than Thomas did because of his ability to take on blocks whereas Thomas had to run around them. He's stop gap material, but I'd still take him over Burnett. It'll be interesting to see if Burnett stays healthy this year in San Diego.

Take Kitna off the list... He won't even make the team. Even if he did he played for the Lions... I would rather have Drew Henson or Ryan Leaf, kitna is a joke... Just ask any fan of any other team.

I see Jerry doing a Tony Banks on Kitna... Jerry doesn't draft QBs very often.

OMG!!!!:banghead:

McGee has a great chance of being the backup in his third year. I hope he pushes Romo some but I don't want another Meredith/Morton, Morton/Staubach or White/and the rest story either.

The pundits contradict themselves. They say TO had to go, he was the problem, and we can be better by subtraction.
Then turn around and say we have no other proven WR's, and RW11 is not the answer, as some say wait and see [which that one is true].

So what is it, we are better without him or we are not better without him.
Chemistry wise, if all is true, and he was causing locker room problems with Romo, Witten, Garrett, otheres. By less talent and better chemistry, will we be better, or simply better chemistry, and no proven talent. They will change their story hourly, to get their ratings. I just won't pay attention to it.

I want to see if the WR's live up to potential. Then the pundits will say...see this is what we said all along....

Let's just hope they do, and still not listen to the media.
