Lost Generation of fans in Philadelphia?

Just want to read what they're saying this week. Surely, someone knows a good Philly board.

Yeah, I was just kidding. I am not sure but I think there is one called the 700 level or something similar.

We could be due for a letdown game and I think we got it from the defense sunday (thanks to ware being sick).

I want to beat philly personally. Rub it in their face the way they did in 01, 02,03,04 when they won the division and were down here celebrating, like emmit's last game.

This could be mcnabb's last game in Dallas as an eagle, so I hope we beat him up pretty good.

Oh and I dont think there is anyway carolina hangs with us even on a bad day.

So that leaves washington. Now I fear the injury, but I still want our starters to play the first half. I want to win that game. I dont know if gibbs will retire, It could be pointing that way if they dont get that last wildcard spot. So if in fact it is gibbs last game, I want him to go out the same way he came back in 04, when we went up there in week 2 for monday night football and beat them.

Oh and the last time gibbs retired from the Commanders was 92, many will recall they beat us on that bogus fumble in the endzone by aikman, that emmitt picked up and then fumbled again!! Well that was gibbs last season, they narrowly missed the playoffs and philly got there spot in the end.....well the last time and place we lost in 92 was Washington to a gibbs coached team fighting for a wild card spot........sound familiar...

Good stuff.

concretefield.com is one I know of because a fellow Cowboy fan use to go their and get banned all the time, especially when Roy Williams broke Terrell Owen's leg.

I have never been to Philly but appearantly there are alot of young Cowboys fans there.

The guys on WIP are talking about all the kids that are wearing Cowboys jerseys around Philadelphia, in particular, Romo and T.O. jerseys.

They even admit that their city has a history of losing and if it doesn't field a winner in the near future in any of the big sports they are going to lose alot of their fanbase.

They have been fielding calls from fans about what to do with McNabb as far as trades and whether to sit him or not in the next couple of games.

It is amazing how hyped up they are about this being Dallas Week and playing the Cowboys. I just don't think anybody in Dallas really cares that we are playing the Eagles.

I've been there before, and have always seen a plethora of people wearing Cowboys gear, even in the offseason.

The guys on WIP always talk about the 1970's, and how a large contingent of Eagles fans converted to Cowboy fans during the Staubach era. They refer to those fans as those on the darkside. Many have family members that were all Eagle fans. I believe that there was even a book written about this subject, but I don't remember the title.

I have been a cowboys fan for 30 years and living in philly or philly suburbs. At the sports bar there are always a bunch of cowboys fans if it is a bar that shows all the games.

I dont have the nfl ticket so i go out if the game is not on tv, though you would be suprised how often the cowboys are on regular tv in this area. Last year i think it was all but 2 games.

But i go and cheer and wear my jersey, its common enough that people actually expect it, you'll hear "oh no, another cowboys fan" when you sit down to watch the game. As long as you are not taunting or rubbing it in someone's face there's no trouble. At least at the places i go to.

But i will say, i am really looking forward to this game. I love to see the eagles lose, almost as good as a cowboy win. My brothers are steelers fans, my good friend is a steelers fan. We all hate the eagles, its something about living in philly and rooting for another team, the eagles fans get so bent out of shape over it that you just gravitate towards hating the eagles. This year has been great. Even though the eagles are horrible and having such a bad year, its still hillarious to watch them blow another game due to poor clock management or some other gaff. I cant tell you how many times on a sunday this year i get a text message from someone that says "lol at the birds".

Speaking of Lost where are the Eagle Trolls that posted here?, Long Gone!, Typical Eagle Fans!

Actually, Gibbs got the Skins in the postseason that year as the sixth seed. They upset Minnesota 24-7, then played San Francisco tough in a 20-10 loss in the divisional round

absolutely right. I always forget that they got in that year.

I was pulling for Washington that game. That loss in RFK burned real bad and still does if you ask me. Dallas DOMINATED the first half of that game. and despite some clutch fourth down stops by the D, that phantom fumble recovered by Danny Copeland in the end zone really sucked.

Yeah plus Irvin fumbled on the series before that, he caught a skinny post in front of darrell green and If I remember correctly green caught up with him and punched it out.

Then the skins marched to the goaline with the ball and again I think we stopped them on 4th down and that is how we ended up with the ball on the 1!!!

it all started with irvin's fumble.

So if we lose to Philadelphia we can forget about the SB?

I personally think this team is due for a letdown game.

We have clawed our way out of some holes but I wouldn't be surprised if we lost one more game.

I agree, we will lose a game.

I think we will tank the Commander game. Win this week for a bye and against a vastly inferior Carolina team on December 22, then tank the last one.

I'm also a 30 year Cowboy fan living in the Philly area.

Have to take a moment to dispute something said on page 2 of this thread about fair weather Cowboy fans.

Its a myth. It doesnt exist. When the Eagles are doing well all you see is green in the city and suburbs. At 5-8 those eagle jerseys get scarce.
Thats just human nature. When things are going poorly for your team, you're just not pumped about flying the colors.

There's no more Cowboy fans in philly this year than 2004, thier just a little more excited to be one.

Amongst the youth, thats a different story. I have a belief that most fans form their allegiance between 5 and 10 yrs of age.
Most of your Cowboy fans not from north Texas formed thier allegiance in the 60's, 70's and 90's.

Now that we're headed back to the top. We can lookforward to a whole new generation of Cowboy fans.

As for me, Ive been talking Cowboys to my two boys age 8 and 5 since conception. They have no choice.

I've been decking my kids (twins) out in Cowboys gear since the day they were born. We brought them home in Cowboys gear. That is the only football team they know and love. I had to make sure to start young.
