Lots of 2025 Contract Questions

Will we be able to afford to keep Turpin?

Do we give Rico another year?

Do we save anything cutting Mazi?
What about Steele?

Will they bring back Tank, Martin, Lewis?

Do we rebuild the safety corps?

Was Kendrick’s one year only?

What’s the real salary cap issues? Can they realistically afford to bring in anyone other than bargain basement guys? (I don’t want your opinion if they will) can they?
overthecap has many of the answers you seek. spotrac does as well. And now you can go get most/ al of this information and more.

Kendrick's will be back

We don't have any. They are imaginary. Yes, will they? Time will tell.

He wasn't mentioned, but I would resign Tyler Smith to a top-dollar contract this offseason. 23yo stud with no risk factors (change in scheme, injuries, etc) and no holes in his game. He's got a lot of great seasons ahead of him.

He'd want $25m+ to sign now. We aren't going to get him to sign on Guard money.

This may be shocking, but I believe the new head coach will have some considerable say in contracts.
Jones is always looking to be accomodative of what a new coach wants the first year or 2. So I agree I think the Cowboys will be a bit more active this offseason.

He would land somewhere in the $20M-$25M zone pretty easily. The guard market just took off last offseason (after being under-valued for a while IMO). Meinierz is a similar type of player to

But your alternatives are playing the waiting game, and risking losing again on another long-term deal like Dallas did with Dak and CeeDee, or letting Smith walk.

Re-sign KeVonte Turpin (RFA) (3 yr deal)
Re-sign Jourdan Lewis (UFA)
Re-sign Chauncey Golston (UFA)
Re-sign Rico Dowdle (UFA)
Re-sign Israel Mukuamu (UFA)
Re-sign Trent Sieg
Re-sign Cooper Rush

Also, Offer all the RFAs: Hoffman, Juanyeh and Bell.

Cut Steele take the savings

Let Walk:
DLaw
Martin
Anger
Cooks
Kendricks

It's not our 'waiting game'.... you can put a contract to him, though he may not sign it. Dak and CeeDee played the 'waiting game' not Jerry.

  • Probably Not, he's going to want 5m+ a year and you cannot pay that to a Returner.

Do we give Rico another year?
  • i hope so but he's going to want coin and i doubt they pay him anything if history repeats itself.

Do we save anything cutting Mazi?
  • Mazi is on Rookie deal let him play it out see how he does.
What about Steele?
  • Cut bait.

Will they bring back Tank, Martin, Lewis?
  • All GONE.

Do we rebuild the safety corps?
  • WE are tied to several contracts need depth drafted.

Was Kendrick’s one year only?
  • IF Zim is retained you keep him for another year.

How much Dead Money does that create?

Also a pro's pro. He is the guy you want to he the leader in the OL room

The hate on dowdle is insane draft a rb 4-7. Sign a few undrafted ones to, we have to many holes to pick one early.

Dowdle should get an offer he can’t refuse .

Send Mazi to the bar to meet with the opposition see who makes it out . Mazi did say he loves to hit people so …

Terrence Steele fuhgettabit…

Can they bring in some high-priced guys? Of course. Will they? Who knows. It would likely require some restructuring of certain contracts which they will likely do regardless.
We have more than 10 years of free agency as evidence of what that answer will be.

The only hope of changing it is the Joneses hiring someone as coach that they respect enough to listen to. Otherwise, they have a FA philosophy and there's no reason to expect it to change.
