He likes to lay the wood.
I have a hard time believing a Safety from Louisiana Tech is the best football player on the board in RD 2.....A lot of big(bigger than LaTech anyway) school players at all positions still on the board, maybe later in the draft....
I'm taking about the Safety position only, the best Safeties in the NFL are all big school guys, and likely a S from LaTech wouldn't be the best football player on the board. You're basing a player's talent and draft projection on the school he went to? That's absurd. If that's the case, there were a ton of big school players on the board when Oakland took Khalil Mack at 5 a couple years ago. I mean, what kind of football school is Buffalo, anyway?
I have higher expectations for the first three picks. I think it is possible to get three starters from this draft. SS, CB, and DE(like your pick of Hall), those mock draft sites will skew your perception. Expect the QB's to rise more than they have already. Coaches jobs are on the line this year and they have to roll the dice on getting a QB that can turn their seasons around. This will be the last season for Hugh Jackson to be under the honeymoon umbrella if he does not score a starting QB, along with SF, Chicago, Jets, Jacksonville, Texans, Bills, and Cardinals. No franchise QB is a coach killer, no mercy and the draft is your only savior.

But Khalil make was considered a consensus top 5 pick. Heck, the debate was whether Mack or Clowney should be the overall pick.
There are exceptions to every rule (Carson Wentz, for another example), but, in general, teams tend to weight the school and conference a player plays in as a factor in whether they can play at the next level.
Very rarely do you see a lot of non-BCS players getting drafted in the first our second rounds, comparatively speaking.
Woods isn't listed among the top safeties in this draft from many of the draft rankings I've seen. I'd be surprised if he's picked in the second round. I'd venture a guess to say he won't be picked until the fourth round or even lower.
I agree Hugh in in the last year of his honeymoon umbrella like I stated. If there is no heir apparent at the QB position, your job as a coach is in seriously jeopardy after two years of subpar seasons. If a coach is looking to save his job, then he's going to lose it drafting and playing a rookie as a starter. A coach trying to save his job will acquire a veteran starter. As the saying goes, you draft a quarterback for your successor.
Don't be deceived by Dak's phenomenal season. Rookie quarterbacks rarely have great seasons. In fact, a team tends to regress while a promising rookie learns the game. We just happened to be the anomaly.
And Hugh Jackson's job will not be in jeopardy this season. He is in total rebuild mode. Besides, the Browns went 1-15. Anything they do beyond winning no games or one game, is an improvement.
He's nowhere near the cutting block yet.
