Love injured

I was thinking the same thing.

If Love tore a knee ligament and is done for the season, Jerry should trade Trey Lance to the Packers for next year's 3rd round pick. Fair deal for both parties.
Then who do we replace Dak with?

Jerry Would have no choice but to pay Dak $$$$$$.

That's exactly the point. At this point, either Jerry has to pay Dak to help keep this team playoff relevant, or he let's Dak leave via free agency and gambles on a rookie drafted QB next year who will likely struggle for 2-3 years to prove he is capable of carrying the team (huge gamble which history has proven this team has failed with over the last 30 years). That's why I say, the grass isn't greener most of the time on the other side of the road.

Resign Dak while drafting a young QB to groom while keeping this team "at least" playoffs compatible.

Malik Willis is the backup. He's really bad. Started 3 games for the Titans in his rookie season, no TD's, 3 INT's.
Willis is terrible. The Packers are in trouble if they rely on him.
I don't want to give up on Trey Lance, but I have to agree he would be a good fit in Green Bay and Jerry could get a second round pick if he negotiates hard.
Green Bay seems to be in real trouble.

I don't think that's possible but if you want to say they're on the same level that's cool but that just shows me that everyone around here thinks that teams have a plan that are better like they all season wouldn't this have been in the GM's mind that they better have a better plan at backup? But everyone around here says that Jerry is the only one who doesn't have the proper depth that he doesn't bring in the right people like he can cover every emergency that can possibly happen...

I was saying that more because Malik Willis was absolutely putrid.

If Love is out long term, their season is over. Why spend draft capital just to get through the injury, better to sign a free agent or go with the backup.

Nobody is giving up a second for Lance, what has he shown to be worthy of a second or that he can somehow salvage the season for Green Bay?

IMO Dak looked better than both those QBs last night. I don't even think it's that close. And no one can accuse me of being a Dak fan. I think it would be stupid to give Dak a 3rd contract. But Jordan Love and Hurts didn't look that good. If Dak made some of the dumbest throws I've seen in the history of this game, he would be excoriated. Hurts was bailed out. Throw that sideline pass against Bland or Diggs, it's going for 6. GB just didn't have the quality corner.

Dak is under contract this year. If they don’t extend him, He would be a free agent next year. Couldn’t they just franchise tag him next season and be $ ahead both years?

He has a no tag clause.

plus a $40 mill cap hit.

Jerry doesn’t want to spend mega millions on Dak because of his poor playoff record.

I think Lance has shown why the 49'ers were willing to trade away picks to get him.
His potential is sky high. I don't want to see the Cowboys get rid of him. I would prefer for the Cowboys to commit to him and let Prescott walk, but the Packers can't have Prescott and Love on big contracts.
I hope the Packers don't want Trey Lance, but I do think he would be a great fit for them.

Jerry doesn’t want to trade Lance. They’ve got plans.

its nice having a QB2 like Rush. 8)

How do you quantify that “made more progress” ?

It’s seems overly simple and on its face not really right. Define it for me.
getting farther in the playoffs
they have made it to the NFC Championship game three times in ten years
YOU tell me the last time we made it to the NFC Championship game

Initial reports are his ACL is intact.
