Better fit than Nolan, and runs a system the players are familiar with. Plus, he could help the scouting group and the Joneses identify what good defensive players look like.

I'm all for Lewis as the DC. Hopefully McCarthy has limited power to choose the DC and the formation. Big Mike should've signed Haslett over Nolan from the jump.

Marvin Lewis might be the guy to turn this around.

Then again if Lewis fails (and the roster isnt as appealing as some would like to believe), he will probably never be a HC again.

He may not anyway, just saying.

Also....the kid mentioned that they are buddies w Lewis when they interviewed him for HC.

Doesn't matter until you get defensive players who are mentally and physically tough. Too many freelancers doing whatever they feel. Coaches are not holding any player who screws up repeatedly accountable.

It is the players not the scheme or defensive coordinator. These players can't even tackle at a professional level and half the time do not even know their assignment. Sometimes it looks like DBs don't even know if they are in man or zone.
