Low center of gravity is the key to Zeke's ability

When I saw Zeke run all over Alabama, then follow that with a 200 yard game against Oregon, I said I hope we can somehow get him.

Little did I know we would suckered bad enough to be in prime position to select him with the 4th overall pick.

Pinch me. ;)

Same here.......he became the player I wanted the minute DeMarco Murray left for the Eagles.

I've been watching his highlights to really see what is this young man's secret weapon.

He is very adept at keeping his lower body low and fixed all the while speeding up and through folks.

It's almost like his feet are glued to the floor ...however he is gliding at the same time.

Very unique young man we have here.
Exactly @lane Zeke is half of what we have on offense to win a Super Bowl and he's an amazing RB and there was this Eagles fan on my Facebook timeline and he compared Zeke and David Johnson of the Cardinals and it appears that Johnson has more yards from scrimmage with 1938yds 19TDs total to Zeke's 1902yds 14TDs total but this Eagles fan was suggesting that Johnson should be an MVP candidate over Zeke and no doubt Johnson is having a spectacular season but here is what this Eagles fan should already know but probably willfully left out is that Johnson's team has a losing record so he may be candidate but he will not win it while Zeke's team has a 12-2 record so of course he would win it before Johnson.

All true. Plus...Zeke is on the COWBOYS. Johnson plays for the Cardinals. Not good for DJ.

IMO as great as he has looked this year we haven't seen his best game yet. He is better than what we have seen. I expect to see a lot more long runs in the future.
Hopefullystarting 3 games from now.

It's the beard. It is perfectly aerodynamic and can be used as a rudder to steer him around defenders.

OK, since you obviously never took physics,

It is impossible to have a low center of gravity with Zeke's head.

Actually the weight of his head aids with his exceptional body lean. :D

David is easily my second fave rb in the NFL..He is a pleasure to watch.

Good observation but not unique at all

This is true of most great RBs, enmitt and Barry also had low COG
That is why RB who "run upright" have less success because they have s high COG and this is also why when a great RB "runs upright" it is so surprising

I think Zeke is very unique.

I didn't think the decision to take Zeke was that hard. He was by far the Best Player Available. He practically had a sign on his forehead saying Star Player. None of the other players in this draft had that.

Some drafts have several and other drafts barely have any.

2011 NFL Draft:
1 QB Cam Newton
2 LB Von Miller
3 DT Marcell Dareus
4 WR A. J. Green
5 CB Patrick Peterson
6 WR Julio Jones

7 LB Aldon Smith
8 QB Jake Locker
9 OT Tyron Smith
10 QB Blaine Gabbert
11 DE J. J. Watt
12 QB Christian Ponder
13 DT Nick Fairley
14 DE Robert Quinn
15 C Mike Pouncey

2016 NFL Draft:
1 QB Jared Goff
2 QB Carson Wentz
3 DE Joey Bosa
4 RB Ezekiel Elliott
5 CB Jalen Ramsey
6 OT Ronnie Stanley
7 DE DeForest Buckner
8 OT Jack Conklin
9 OLB Leonard Floyd
10 CB Eli Apple

You probably could have highlighted A. Smith and R. Quinn too.

Love love love Zeke the Freak, but I completely agree Will. I hope he learns to be more ellusive when going heads up on defenders, thus able to better absorb impact. He's a rookie, a phenom rookie, but a rookie nonetheless, it will come with time if he wants it to (i.e. he may just love bruising defenders)

This business of being a bruising type of runner seems very true to me but it also comes with some frightening aspects that sternly warn of assuming Earl Campbell's destiny, which is one of becoming physically damaged and aged beyond his years. I'm surely hoping for a better fate to be in store for Ezekiel Elliott. Those who impose hard impact upon defenders accept the same thing for themselves. It might very well enhance his longevity if he'd see fit to be more elusive. I imagine a staff member has or will mention this, if they haven't already.

Let's hope it's part of his continued development, Bullflop. I saw Earl's A Football Life, migosh he was a damn wrecking ball. He ended up addicted to pain meds and all jacked up after his career. Poor guy. I don't think Zeke will suffer that kind of fate, with the way the league is watered down a bit more now, with that the way you can hit players has changed so much (rule-wise), but it's a great point and comparison, brother.

Zeke will develop that "elusiveness while being brought down" (if you will). As has been pointed out many times by many Zoners here, it's -- in part -- what helped Emmitt last so long. Dude then went on to win Dancing with the Stars lol

Zeke should hit up Emmitt about that specific ability :)

Starkly true stuff that you've mentioned here, Trouty. It hurts me to see Earl hobbling around with a cane, barely able to get around and move without great difficulty. I wouldn't wish that on anyone, especially someone as special as Zeke. That's a good thought about him having a good talk with Emmit to glean anything he can about what it takes to enjoy a long and relatively healthy career. He'd definitely be the one to ask, alright. ;)
