Funny.
McNabb's number will be retired. What did he do? Any Super Bowl trophies? Didn't think so.

Makes me proud to be a Cowboy fan because our standards are a lot higher re the ROH and retired numbers.

Um, McNabb took the Eagles to 5 NFC Championship games and a Superbowl and was the Eagles best quarterback for a decade, he deserves to have his number retired

Seems to be always a bridesmaid. meh.

Clearly, the standard for greatness in Philly is to almost be great and not for any championships.
Maybe Vick will someday catch up to him. hee-hee.

McNabb and Jim Johnson blitzes covered for their crappy drafting for years. If he went down everytime he shoulda been sacked Reid woulda been fired years ago. But it's true they do have low standards and should be disbanded. The Link should be bulldozed and the team never spoken of again.

No one on the Eagles has ever won a championship with the team.. does that mean they've NEVER had a great player on the team?

Your logic is silly.. McNabb was a great QB for them. He'll get HoF consideration even. Anyone who knows anything about his career there would understand why they are retiring his number. He and Andy Reid took that franchise from nothing to being a contender every year for a decade.

Yes. I personally dont think he should be HOF but definitely worthy to have jersey retired. In the last 30 years the top 3 QB for philadelphia have been McNabb, Cuningham and Jaws. Whether you like him or not, the McNabb led teams accomplished more than the other 2.

I never did like McNabb's act - got tired of his whiny attitude and self inflicting insert foot in mouth comments that alienated him from a lot of philadelphians. But why wouldnt a team retire the number of the QB whose teams accomplished more than any other.

McNabb is about the only player that kept them relevant for awhile. He was a good QB but not even close to great. He should get his # retired, that team doesn't exactly have a long list of greats. No way he makes the HOF, but he deserves #5 to be retired there IMO.

Make no mistake, I still despise him and the Eagles :D

The Eagles do have really low standards though. Getting close is enough for them...

They need something to show there fans considering there Superbowl Trophy case is empty and don't forget he was the only QB to choke on his own puke in the SB.

Even money the Eagles fans boo him at the ceremony...

Kinda like alot of our fans will boo Tony Romo when he retires if he never brings us a super bowl.

Does that mean he sucks, or does that mean we have some stupid fans in the mix?

Doesn't mean he sucks. Just means he failed in that sense. And shouldn't have a number retired. IMO.

Why would there be stupid fans? Because they don't agree with you? And, have had their hearts ripped out because of some boneheaded play Romo pulls out time after time?

Or, is it because they are beyond frustrated with the guy.. I would be both of those fans. Heartbroken and frustrated over Romo. I am frustrated with the guy because I believed he could help Dallas win another Super Bowl. I think Romo is a great QB, at times. Seems the boneheaded plays and plays rookies make still come about. I would love nothing more for Romo to win a Super Bowl . 2 or 3 mind you.. I think sometimes in the past it hasn't been his problem as to why this game was lost or won. Of course. He just seems to break you at the right time. .hahaah.

Really don't care if McFlabb won 40 Super Bowls for the Egals. Still can't stand him, or that crappy team. And, it shows low standards retiring this failure's number in Philly.

Looking at the eagles history he does not have a lot of competition as regards best QB.

I could present a million arguments as to why this is a stupid statement..and all of them would be as waste of time after reading your last post.

One would do, and you still couldn't. Carry on.

Took a team who had been awful the previous 2 seasons back to the playoffs in only his second year with the team, and on to 4 straight division titles after that.

Carry on..
