Luke from a talent perspective is a GOAT level linebacker. It’s a shame he had to retire so early.

Luke represents what the Hall is. Never won a ring but was the best player on the field when he played played. I have more of an issue with a kicker than him.

Man that is not how I remember him at all. Not saying you are wrong because I do see a lot of people questioning him. But man I always remembered him as the best linebacker in the league. Or top 2. I always saw him as a first ballot guy.

Him retiring early and still getting in first time shows you how good he was. He was what you drew up when you wanted a linebacker. In comparison I loved Sean Lee and and most Cowboy fans would agree when healthy he was probably top 10 at the time. Luke was just as smart as him but even more physically imposing.

He played in Carolina

He was almost elected on the first ballot. His achievements are among the greatest LBs of all time.

I have him just behind Bobby Wagner who will be a first ballot Hall of famer when he hangs it up.

Both are ironically same draft class

Yeah he was a phenomenal player and qb the defense his whole career. Dude was sharp. He deserves it.

Defensive player of the year, defensive rookie of the year, 5 time all pro, second highest pff score avg all time (fwiw)

I never said he didn’t deserve the nod. I think he got in so quickly due to his health challenges. Honestly Woodson had a more prolific and impactful career by far.

Wood was great and deserves to be in since Leroy Butler, John Lynch, and Atwater are in…..but Luke was like the best LB in the league at the time, played 8 years and was 1st team all pro 5 times and second 2 times….the only time he didn’t make all pro was rookie year and he was defensive rookie of the year that year….was also DPOY one year……easy easy HOF, not even debatable.
