You can't stop Luke Gifford you can only hope to contain him.

can't afford to risk adding him to the PS...he will almost for sure get poached by another team as soon as we did. He's making the 53. He will be available week 1 unless he has a setback.

You find a way to keep a player like that, he will be getting reps this year. Lee will be injured. And putting him on PS will get him poached by another team..

No one is poaching an injured LBer for their 53. They have guys who have been with them all offseason and know their system. He will be safe. No one wanted to draft him and a few good plays in the first preseason game isn’t changing any team’s mind.

...its a tough one, you wont see much of him anymore for rest of preseason. But he had good debut. Do you keep him? Does our linebacker core need more depth? Will be interesting to see.

The way you keep him for sure is to IR him. Maybe bring him back or simply stash him to replace Lee next year. Personally, I think he’ll be safe on the PS.

He won’t be injured by week 1 or 2. He is flashing big time last night. Maybe just a fluke but teams watch these players. We are pretty square at LB.

Good.

His INT was a heads up play hope he comes back in time to get some more reps before the preseason ends
It was heads up for sure - but it was more Mullen had his head up his posterior on that pass. Same as Beathard on the Wilson INT later. But it was nice to see the guys make a play when given an opportunity. Brown would’ve dropped either one.

People say this every year about 3-4 guys and they all end up on the practice squad. No one wanted him in 7 rounds and now he’s injured. No one is putting him on their 53 based off last night.

I am right on this guy. This guy makes plays. TOUGH and has a high FB IQ.

this player will come in handy in the middle of the year when Lee goes down for the stretch run.

While it’s good news, he likely is out for the remainder of the preseason which means there is little chance they keep him on the 53. He will clear waivers and go to the PS. The other option is to put him on IR to keep him.
Yea, I bet PUP and then IR.

I know it's just one pre-season game, but later on in the year a team with a bunch of injuries or who is just rebuilding might look at that game and poach him from the PS.
