He has been fined for being late to practices. He went off on a few players in the locker room after the game and he is struggling learning the playbook. They said that's why he hasn't had many plays thrown his way and he is showing that he isn't that bright. (Their words not mine) They are really getting on him a bit.Fans have been emailing in going off on them.

I think Dez will be fine but this is a little cause for concern. why they bring this up after the guy has he greatest game to date puzzles me.

I for one am glad he went off on some players after the game.

Why wouldn't they?

They're reporters and even though they work for the team they aren't there to coddle them or protect them.

I think Dez will be fine too, but it is a little concerning to hear that he still has an apparent tardiness issue.

I also have a problem with him missing all week of practice and then showing up on Sunday's. Love him or hate him, that wouldn't be happening under BP. Dez isn't a 10-year vet that can get away with that.

He needs to be in his playbook so he contribute even further with this team.

he's a rookie... Miles Austin and Roy WIlliams didn't get it right away, but they're doing OK now. GIve him a few year plus a full off-season with the program and he'll be fine... unless of course they go with a whole new system next year but even then, having that off-season w/ the team helps

As for yelling at players... I think from the beginning he's shown that he's a worker. Yelling isn't always the most productive form of leadership, but I see a guy willing to step up his play on the field, so he's earning to right to be a vocal leader off the field.

It doesn't totally surprise me to hear that he hasn't picked up his playbook yet. I still don't see a player who looks very polished out there, but instead a player who is getting by on determination and physical ability. I'll cut him some slack on the playbook issue though. Most rookies struggle in their first year (which is why I thought the Dez hype got a little out of control in the preseason) thanks to the intricacies of the position. Dez's injuries haven't helped here either.

The lack of punctuality does bother me a little bit if it's true.

I can't totally blame him for going off on players in the locker room. I would have been pretty ticked off too, especially if I was laying it all out on the field like Dez was while the rest of my teammates were simply collecting a game check.

From what I have seen from this offense this season. HALF of the offense still doesn't know the playbook, yet, they expect a rook (who is playing better then BOTH vet WR's) to know everything?

Good on him for goin off on some of the underachievers in that locker room.

Nor do I.

That's twice this year (well three times if you count the Viking TD pass to tie) that he's provided a huge momentum push with scoring plays and the team has failed to follow up and build off of it.

Man, the amount of negative press Dez gets is off the charts. The media just eats up any little story up with this guy...

It's a self-fulflilling prophecy, really. They expect him to be a talented but troubled WR (like so many before him). So when something even remotely related to that stereotype pops up, they jump on it and spin it into that stereotype. Then any reaction Dez has or doesn't have is interpreted to reinforce this stereotype.

This just goes to show that Garrett is a bad teacher of offense...

If you play harder than anyone else on the team you EARN the right to demand more from your teammates. None of the veterans have stepped up yet, so I have no problem with it. He'll be with this team longer than most of these other clowns.

The one guy on the team actually doing something on the field is the one having off field issues, lol. Yea, ok.

Reason why we need a strong minded head coach and a hospitalized Jerry Jones. All these guys need a heavy hand on them.

This kind of goes hand in hand with the playbook. You can see that Garrett doesn't just throw Dez out there without being confident he knows the plays. It could easily cause turnovers and injuries. How much has this o-line hampered Garrett in a similar sense? You can see it in the game planning. Vikings game.

3 TDs in a game and he doesn't know everything that's going on...and is a rookie- wow. He's a keeper in my book.

Went off on some players. Great- Dez make a list of losers on the team and give it to the new coach. You have our support.

Because this has been happening all season not just recently. Not defending him but the timing of this is weird to me. If the guy has been doing this, why has this come out before. In other words we all are feeling great about what he did in the last game. Why release this information when he is the only thing right now that Cowboy fan base is excited about.

Imagine when Espn gets a hold to this.

Seeing the locker room interview with Dez there is nothing wrong with him or his additude.

Irvin was also known to go off on players, I love it !
