LVE at Sam?

I personally believe LVE is better built to handle the Mike position and all traffic in between the Tackles better than Jaylon could. Body-wise, LVE has a bigger and thicker frame than Jaylon, so I don't understand why Marinelli has the smaller framed LB playing MLB while the bigger one is playing OLB? Makes no sense.

I think Jaylon will replace Lee when he retires And am not sure the LB positions are set yet

It's funny to read someone say Jaylon is too small to play MLB

Right you don't think Jaylon is physically suited to play the position
Understand English? Never said that. If LVE was not in the picture, of course you play Jaylon at MLB. But since LVE is here, you don't play your biggest stud LB on the outside where he can be sectioned off. Plus, why risk Jaylon playing in the middle and having to deal with incoming linemen when he's fresh from recovering from a very serious knee and leg injury that almost cost him his career? Keep the faster/quicker Jaylon on the outside the way Campo used Dexter Coakley, with the bigger/thicker/stronger LVE (Dat Nguyen) inside.

I think it will be LVE replacing Lee. We've already heard that they are having LVE calling out plays.
Could happen but i'm waiting to see what he can do LVE and Jaylon need to become Lee's best friends and room mates

Jaylon is not a stud.....I'm learning a lot today

Doesn't look like Jaylon is giving up the Mike. Any word on if LVE is being considered at Sam? I think he has the size for it and could be pretty good against the run.

I think both will play mike and Jaylon will be used more at strong side in rush situations. Not to worry Kelz, they'll both get lots of snaps

Oh I know both will play. Based on Kris Richards comments back when drafted LVE I expect him to be in the middle on obvious passing downs because of the issues his height would cause. Jaylon is just so good sideline to sideline and taking on and shedding OL is just hard to believe LVE will get many reps at Mike.

Also better to have the fast guy protecting the edge. Or rushing.

I really loved the rumor of moving Jaylon to SAM in the offseason. It made so much sense to me, I wondered why we forced our more athletic players to Mike before, instead of letting that be a more disposable position for a thumper.

Playing Mike never did Sean Lee any favors. I'd rather keep Jaylon out of there and groom him to replace Lee. Keep the smaller fast guys on the edge where they can use their speed and won't take as much abuse from the big boys.

Shhh, careful now BBDD, you are making too much sense.

Think they'll be rotating the 3 around as the year goes on. IMO in a base 4-3 formation think you'll see LVE at MLB and Smith at SOLB used similarly to Bruce Irvin in the early 2010's. Nickel formation with 4 down linemen to be determined.

Lol he's not a stud. What has he done to be considered a stud?
81 tackles, 1 sack and 2 forced fumbles with a brace that affected his mobility laterally. No one has EVER been able to play with the brace and the kid was the second highest rated LB on our team last season. If LVE puts up the same numbers it would be considered a great year and make him worth the first round pick.

LVE is too weak at the point of attack to play SAM. I'd rather move Jaylon from MIKE to SAM when we play base defense then watch LVE get washed out every second play while he learns to use his hands properly.

Jaylon also has a higher level of pass rush which makes putting him SAM more favorable. I'd rather have Jaylon at the LOS and Vander Esch dropping into coverage, spying the QB or playing in space.
