LVE replacement?

I am confident that they with either resign Lve or another fa starter at the position. They will not head into the draft needing an immediate starter. Certaintly could draft a future starter and improve their depth, but they will cover themselves. You would think, he and Wagner will have Quinn pushing the team to sign.
One of my bold predictions is LVE returns on a one year deal some time around the draft.

It's very possible he come back, he actually played real well down the stretch.
I don't think there's going to be high interest in him, and if he is to take a prove it deal, he may as well not have to move.

However all it takes is one team to decide he was misused etc....

Nothing to do with his play, but for me, if you have a capable replacement (Cox) you spend the money elsewhere. Even a cheap one year deal would be 5-8m.

Problem is, they do not know that they have a capable starter in Cox yet and he is coming off of major surgery. He didn't even take 1 LB snap last season, just played as a big nickel in the red zone.

No doubt, and I agree....but when you use draft only to find starters, you can't really brush off reasonably high picks as someone you cant count on.

It's not ideal and I don't agree with it, but this is what they do.

He was a day 3 pick. His trajectory is to first become a strong special teams player and a viable backup. Push to become a starter by yr 3 seems reasonable.

Word is he could draw interest from Pats and Bronco's. Not sure but I think 2 or 3 Pats Lbers are free agents.....

Yea I know .......I'm thinking closer to $10M min
He’s a complete player
Can rush the passer, cover and is a tackling machine
He won’t get what the 3/4 pass rushers do but I’d say 10 is even on the low end
Wouldn’t shock me if he was close to 12

We’ve had plenty of starters who were not high picks
I get why they don’t know if he can be a starter till he shows he can be a starter
He’s coming off an injury and was injured in college so I think they probably feel about him like I do
He’s a good player IF he can stay healthy
But if he was the starter we still need more LB anyway
They aren’t signing a top tier LB though

True but many had him as a higher grade than the 4th. People were doing cartwheels to get him that late.

Bottom line is we need dudes like him to come through.

IMO the key to this season is about the guys from last year that aren't named Parsons taking a massive leap.

Yes, we have. Problem is, they have been guys like X Woods who were a notch below JAG.

Not that a 6th rounder should ever be counted on, but there's a difference between a starter and a good starter.

It's almost impossible to field 22 solid starters using draft only.

They do draft better than many IMO, but it would need to be legendary year after year for this plan to work.....as far as deep playoff runs go anyway.

The book on Cox coming in was an excellent coverage linebacker, but a terrible run defender. He may just be more of a nickel player.

He is a tweener no doubt.

Thinking on it he is probably more of a Neal replacement than LVE....so I'll agree.
