We need Nate to show well also. Very little depth along the OL. I hate we let Hoffman walk. And Asim Richards. Good back ups. Whos second string Center? Is Bass good enough.
He’s learning on the job. With Guyton I think it was combination of things, he was raw, he played blindside tackle for a left handed QB in college, I think he was slow picking up the footwork flip he needed to play LT after playing Blindside RT in college, this is just a guess but I think he may have been more athletic than technique sound in college which is common, and he has had injury issues in the Pros. But hey Ronnie Stanley has turned an injury marred career into a lucrative deal with the Ravens.
if we need Nate Thomas to play well, we are doomedWe need Nate to show well also. Very little depth along the OL. I hate we let Hoffman walk. And Asim Richards. Good back ups. Whos second string Center? Is Bass good enough.
There was also talks if he really even liked playing football because it seemed his head wasn't in it. This year he was doing good work in the offseason.Guyton's issue has always pretty much been a lack of reps to make fundamentals routine. When he loses, he's just thinking and slow.
He has to stay healthy.
Nothing wrong with that the issue being it does appear to be a little slow. Lets use Tyron Smith, he got drafted he played RT in college and in his rookie year and switched to left side his 2nd Year and was a stalwartHe’s learning on the job.
We better hope Guyton and Steele both vastly improve their pass blocking over what we've seen the past 2 years. We've had 2 of the worst starting tackles in the NFL.So, Schottenheimer is saying we're REALLY bad at LT ...![]()
Yeah, maybe at OG.if we need Nate Thomas to play well, we are doomed
Shelton's strength is not NFL ready. That's why he was a 4th rounder.I saw a clip of Drew Shelton on X blocking Sam Williams,i think he will be lucky to make the team.once again we have to pray Guyton stays healthy.
Nate shows all the signs of a pretty good backup OG.We need Nate to show well also. Very little depth along the OL. I hate we let Hoffman walk. And Asim Richards. Good back ups. Whos second string Center? Is Bass good enough.
My biggest issue with several of the Guyton club here is this point blank factual breakdown of his ACTUAL performance when healthy as measured over 21 games as a starter. We better hope Guyton and Steele both vastly improve their pass blocking over what we've seen the past 2 years. Guyton
Steele
- 2024 - 75th rank Tackle, 80th in pass and 55th in the run game
- 2025 - 71th rank tackle, 81st in pass and 46th in the run game
- 2024 - 58th rank tackle, 66th in the p[*** and Top 25-30 in the run game
- 2025 - 55th rank tackle, 76th vs the pass, 32nd rank in the run game
And YOU TOO Steele!, lol.My biggest issue with several of the Guyton club here is this point blank factual breakdown of his ACTUAL performance when healthy as measured over 21 games as a starter.
There HAS NOT been a mystery time period where his play has shown improvement and the "experts" say so.
These are what the experts actually think of him.
Its fortunate I have a strong spiritual side and that is that I do believe in miracles.
It will take a miracle to show me this guy can be a legit NFL LT.
Now come on Guyton, prove me wrong!
Please!!
The season could depend on your performance.
COWBOYS!!
