There are three CBs I have my eyes on in this years draft class: Hargreaves, Jackson, and Mackensie Alexander.

Alexander is 5-11 and projected to run a 4.40-4.45. You want to see a shutdown corner in college? Well, unless you have Clemson games saved, you won't be seeing many highlight reels featuring Alexander. He has 11 pass breakups, and 0 INTs during his two years as a starter with Clemson. This is not due to poor play, it's due to outstanding play. Think of Revis in 2009 and 2010.

The question here is if he can cover the outside in the NFL. Seems scouts believe he's entering the draft a year too soon as well. But he's the only other CB, the other being Hargreaves, I think has the ability to be a shutdown corner in the NFL. He'd be a risky pick in the third, but one with a great reward if he reaches his ceiling.

To get a better understanding of his abilities as a shutdown corner, draft breakdown has some of his games uploaded.

3rd round?? I've seen him as high as a top 20 prospect. Good chance he doesn't even make it to our 2nd rounder, unless he gets arrested or injured 3rd round isn't a remote possibility

Yep, seems he's moved up a bunch on recent mock drafts. I could see Raiders taking a chance on him with the 14th pick, saw a mock draft of him going with the 8th pick. As much as I like him in coverage, he's a terrible run stopper and has poor tackling skills. I really wish he stayed in school another year. I'd like us to consider him if we trade back in the first, but I still think there is a little too much risk with him to take in the top 20.

My fav CB in this draft. If we go cornerback, this is the guy I want. That said, it'll have to be in a trade down in rd 1 to the 15 area

Just don't see it happening.

He's my number 1 cb...and it's not even close after that.;)

Hargreaves reminds me of Jason Verrett....but I don't think he's gonna run as fast. His 40 time is gonna be interesting.

Like Jackson as well:D

Not buying the Jalen Ramsey hype as a shutdown CB....

Clemson has so many high ranking defensive players I have to wonder if some of them are being over-hyped due to playing on a great defense with other good players.

Shaq Lawson and Mackensie Alexander are studs.....the rest are JAGS.

I like DJ Reader....but I wouldn't over pay for him.....

What I like about this kid is his fight for the ball, not only knocking down passes but fighting for picks.

Some people have him ahead of Hargreaves, though I can't fathom why. He is a lock down man-to-man corner but lacks versatility. I am interested to see how he tests in the cone and shuttle, because he looks a little stiff out of the breaks to me. He's very physical and will probably need to be a little more hands off in the pros or he'll be a flag magnet. I have him rated behind Hargreaves because Hargreaves has better scheme flexibility and a better nose for the ball.

Vernon Hargreaves has 10 interceptions and 27 passes defensed in three seasons and two fumble recoveries. People rarely targeted him his last two seasons. He has slipped because of their game against Alabama, but the tape doesn't lie. He's an elite talent who can play in any scheme and has a knack for finding the ball.

My thoughts as well.

Looked very handsy in the clip posted above.

I love that he plays the ball instead of the man though.... We could use more of that in this secondary.
