The suction blocking isn't there from what I've seen. Now, keep in mind, in the NFL it's tough to get off a block, so there's a bit of realism to that, but I'm able to get off blocks if I use a finesse move and change direction.
What I especially like is that there's finally a big difference in players based on ratings, especially if you turn the difference meter to 0.
Oh, in regards to the suction blocking (Still there) I wasn't referencing detaching from blocks once initiated, etc. but rather when Defender is merely in the vicinity and the OL blocking animation takes over "sucking" the defender into the block though the defender wasn't physically aligned to be taken on in that manner (like a couple yards to the left or right, but then being centered to the middle of the block once the OL suction takes effect). Mainly I see this with LBs and Safeties when defending the run & screens. I can cheese around it, but that's more of what I'm growing tired of; not playing realistically and forced compensating, etc.
Setting the threshold to 0 has advantages but defenders also take terrible angles and is much easier to round out the play to the sideline. I usually set it lower (15-25 as opposed to 0) just because I would wrap around defenders who seem more hesitant to enter tackling animations; allowing you to hit the corner and turn up field with too much success.
You are correct in that the star players are emphasized via gameplay. Top WRs are usually the primary targets on 3rd down, Murray is the new Jerome Bettis on there (he must have broken 5 tackles on a long run in my second game against the Eagles). I do like this year's deep ball passing much more as well and heard they are going to patch up the constant career goal reminders due to the clutter on screen between plays. EA basically told owners to wait until the patch is released before starting their Franchise modes due to a problem in the progression system when simming (OL).
Good back and forth Operation Sports Forum is a decent place for discussion, tips, sliders, etc. as well.
