I'm in if it's sim football, if it's a bunch of people going for it on 4th and 30, I'm definitely not in.

I'm excited for the revamped franchise mode personally, been aching for a franchise mode overhaul for years and years.

I agree, that is the best part of the game for me. Hopefully they got it right this time.

Someone brought this up the other day, but have you tried QuickHit? It's "okay" IMO. I got my team to level 4. Not sure how long it would keep my interest though.

Why hasn't madden in the franchise mode allowed trades of future draft picks? I'd love the option to mortage my franchise future away. I guess that's the Jerry in me!

I was debating on buying it just because he finished second! I really don't like Vick! It makes it easier to dislike him dressed in the vomit green!

I don't think thats what TheCount meant by sim football. I think he was talking about the user players that will go against the traditional calls of NFL games, such as going for it on 4th & long in the first quarter or using the glitches of the game to their advantage. I agree on this point.

Its hard to do a football sim online with Madden, too many glitchers and babies who give up the sim as soon as they start losing.

I really enjoy the fact that you can create your own playbook again.

They claim to have really focussed on franchise mode as well.

There was a glitch one year, I forget which year now, where you could audible, then audible cancel and send the RB in motion. The QB (Vick) would turn to pitch the ball to the RB who wasnt there, then you could take off with him down the field because the defense was all flowing to where the RB was suppose to be. I averaged over 260 rushing yards a game online that year. The best part was listening to how pissed people would get that they couldnt stop it.

This wasnt a glitcher but still...

Last year one of the better madden members ( he was in the 300-400 range I think) online played me and beat me by a td, and he didn't glitch but he was sooooooo annoying.

I'd score on him in 3-4 plays and he'd hold the ball until the last second to snap the ball so he could have the ball for an entire quarter if he was able to pick up a few first downs. I literally had like 3 possessions the entire game. Literally every play he'd go out of his way to not go out of bounds, so the clock would run non-stop and he'd wait until 1 second was left to snap it.

Yeah, I'm fine with people that want to glitch and play arcade mode having their fun, I just don't want to play with them.

But can you create your own plays? And if you can, is it actually a decent tool with a lot of options, or the same limited crap they had before?

I remember the old end around glitch from Madden '94 (I think that's the right year) where you'd pick an end around, and take the WR who is supposed to receive the pitch and just run him straight up the field. When the QB made the toss, it wouldn't matter where that WR was on the field, he would all the sudden have the ball. That combined with the onside kick trick (required 2 controllers) and You could score guaranteed in 1 to 2 plays every posession and never give the other team the ball for the entirety of the game. 500-0 with 5 min. quarters? Totally possible.

I like to build my team through the draft. I use the FA to use fill in my lower half of the depth chart. I may go after the prize FA every once in a while. Dang I sound like Jerry! I hope the scouting system is a little better than previous years. It's time to upgrade that portion also.

Ah well, I'm one of those weird people who will actually go through a 30 year franchise in madden, just to go through all the drafts.

Never played an online franchise. How does the draft work? Is there a draft? Considering in the past few Maddens there were 30 pre created Draft classes that you could just look up online to see who's worth picking.. it sounds like it'd be easy to always get A potential studs online, unless there is some randomize name feature.

Yeah the people who just hold the ball the entire game get annoying too. I wouldn't have a problem with this if it was 15 minute quarters, but when you are dealing with 7 minute quarters and you can literally hold the ball for 8 minutes per possession, it gets old.

I don't see the big deal with the clock management.

I'm all about ball-control and the running game. Granted, I don't purposely stay in bounds unless I'm killing the clock.
