I hope they still have the fantasy draft for franchise mode. I enjoy drafting my own team, then building it up over a few years.

Everyone who would be interested in an XBOX 360 Madden 2012 league post and let me know and put your Gamertag down.

We'll see how many people want to do it and we'll see if we can get this going. It will be SIM, no cheesing, going for it on 4th all the time, etc.

I want in 360 gamertag - Pupule Haole

I'm sure they do, that's one of the few things that kept it interesting.

I hope the scouting system is a little better than previous years. It's time to upgrade that portion also.

Agreed. Pretty much all you had to do the last two years is scout the top potential based players, trade for some late round picks, and use your 10 draft picks on just those players. Sign them all to 7 year deals. Within three years of doing that, your team would be stacked w/ top tier guys w/ cheap 7 year deals.

Pre-ordered it from amazon today. Been stuck trying to play it on the Wii for the last few years so haven't ordered a new one since 08. Got the XBox 360 now so hoping it's worthwhile.

Not really into managing a team. Just want to turn it on, play a couple of games against my kids and maybe a little online play.

I don't see the big deal with the clock management.

I'm all about ball-control and the running game. Granted, I don't purposely stay in bounds unless I'm killing the clock.

Nothing wrong with clock management.

Now imagine in the real NFL, you could hold the ball for 2 minutes before you had to snap, and NFL teams did little dink and dunk plays and made sure to stay inbounds the entire time so they could burn up another couple of minutes each play...

It would be pretty awful.

40 seconds in between plays is a lot different when you have 7 minute quarters. Lower it to 15 seconds of actual game clock time and it wouldn't be a problem.

Yeah it was pretty easy. Alternatively you could just look up the entire draft for each year online, find out which are the best guys per position in each draft. Not only allowing you to get the best players per draft, but the best players available in all 30 years of the draft. Sure maybe there is a A potential 90 rated QB in this draft, but you can find out which draft the 99 rating potential QB is in, and just restart your franchise during preseason until you get that draft.

Which is why I asked how that works in Online franchise, never played it. IS there even a draft?

As far as the clock management goes they can only hold the ball on those 8-9 minute possessions if you can't stop them. If you can't then you really have no one to blame but yourself.

Is that annoying that they do that? Probably but it's very smart. There is no reason they should give you the ball anymore than they have to so if you want to get them out of that mind frame then I guess you better step your D up.

I've noticed, in NCAA as that's the only football game I play right now, that the game clock speeds up in between plays. I honestly don't know why it does this but maybe it's to curtail what you're saying (the waiting in between plays).

It is an option, accelerated clock I believe. I like to use it when I play franchise games at 15 min to make things more realistic. It simulates an actual play clock in a game by taking you down to the avg time a team spends in a huddle. This way you can call plays quickly but still only run a similar number of plays to a real game. It also makes it so you cant sit there and call 3 audibles before running a play.

I was greatly disappointed in Madden 2011, with the suction blocking and the lame wanna be gang tackling that didn't really work.

I played the demo of 2012 and I'll be purchasing it. It won't be without faults, which is always the case with sports games, but the game plays much better than any Madden I've played. The suction blocking is gone, and the tackling feels much better. Guys don't start the tackle animation until they're actually on the offensive player instead of warping towards them, so it's much easier to juke people and it just feels much better.

Custom routes.

No one is arguing this.

Nano blitzes and Rocket catching fall under the same categories. I used to be really good at them in Madden 08. If you can't stop Nano blitzes or rocket catching, you need to respectively step your O and D up because you won't be able to compete if you can't.

Both of them make the game really lame though, like holding onto the ball for 40 seconds every play with 7 minute quarters.

Good strategy? Sure.

It's just annoying. You can have a three and out and use up 2/3 of a quarter(since they are only 5-7 minute quarters)

So it really has nothing to do with being able to stop them. You can hold a team to very little and still barely have the ball.

I can typically score in 4-5 plays and take up about 45 seconds to do so. The opponent has a 3 and out and has the ball twice as long as me. If you give up 2 first downs, and they keep running the ball to run the clock out, it's pretty annoying. The players that do this, usually don't punt either. So you have 4 shots to get 10 yards, and even with great defense it's hard to stop a player from getting a first down each possession, so you figure they have the ball for 5-8 plays on average and take up over a quarter each time they have the ball. It makes the game slow and boring. Its a video game, not real life.

I see it as a good strategy in real life with 15 minute quarters. I don't see this as a good strategy in a football game that takes less than half as long. I see it as: It's the only chance I have to beat you.

Yah I know the best Nano in Madden 11 and a bunch of money plays on offense. If you don't it's hard to counter those who nano alllll game. Funny to beat them at their of game.

Finally got around to giving the demo a try and it's a BIG improvement over previous Madden games: Wasn't sure about getting this but the demo convinced me,

Leagues and online franchises always fail trying to get that many people on the same page time wise is a nightmare. This year they've added "online communities" which from the sound of things is a private leaderboards where you can edit match setting, sliders and all that stuff this might be a better option for a CZ madden thing then online franchise
