TheCount;3458271 said:Haha, anyone notice there's a Swagger rating this year?
I don't understand it.
Ware has 95 Swagger, Ratliff has 67?
Pat Watkins has 81, Keith Brooking has 62?
What the hell is it based on and what does it influence?
Muhast;3458111 said:They truthfully pulled a typical madden move: They barely adjusted anything.
These ratings are almost identical to the end of the season update they did before the playoffs. There are a few players who got bumped a couple points either way, but nothing drastic.
They added "gameflow", a "swagger" rating (which I thought they should have done years ago) and claim to have tuned the gamespeed so there is a big difference in players speeds.
pupulehaole;3458426 said:um the havnt played since the playoffs.... and madden adjusts the ratings to how well the players are playing so if our players are killing it they will be boosted.... this is only the launch ratings which mean CRAP
Muhast;3458434 said:Yea but players improve in the off-season. And fans get excited about the "new ratings" every season, even though they are hardly any different than the year before.
The big difference is older players and rookies. But besides that pretty much nothing changes and I think that is stupid. If Felix had a monster year and will get even more carries I dont think it hurts anything to assume he will be even better this year and bump him a few up and barber a few down.
I think the same should go for teams like Philly, where they just lost their QB and head into this year with a relatively unknown player. We have seen 2 games out of him, and b/c we don't know what to expect, I think it's safe to assume Jackson's performance will go down without a proven veteran at QB.
You can do this with just about every team in the league. Just move them up a couple or down a couple. But it is crazy to keep them the exact same and not take into account any of the additions. Romo is not going to get worse with the addition of Dez Bryant. Just about any fan can concede he will be better this year. So why keep him at the same rating? What does it hurt to move him up 1-2 overall points? If he starts out slow move him back down.
But to do next to nothing? That's terrible.
pupulehaole;3458446 said:LOL yea well EA Sports doesn't care about the off-season i think you think that madden designers are on watch at all times? they aren't... like i said GET OVER IT these are only the RELEASE ratings which mean NOTHING they will all change according to how they play IN REAL GAMES.
Chris in SoCal;3458596 said:I noticed in last year's game that the older players fall off a lot once you get to year 4 or 5 in Franchise. Marc Colombo went from like a 78 to a 63 in one season. Anyone else notice this? or f they plan on fixing that in this year's game.
Romo 2 Austin;3458603 said:I hate that, but on o-linemen the decline is based on Pancakes to Sacks Allowed combined with age, same with their improvement. So if you see on giveup a buttload of sacks, or you have a very pass happy offense, you will be changing o-linemn quick in madden.

Yea I think they like Ware's sack dance more then Jay's Hulksmash dance.
Pat over Brooking is probably just a racial assumption lol.

I think they should have certain factors built into the ratings when a fragile minded player competes against a more confindent player. Example: Dallas vs Denver 2009, Romo throwing to Sam Herd being defended by Champ Bailey! Of course I'm not the biggest Romo fan. Maybe they could find someway to add Romo in EA Sports Tiger Woods 2011 game! Maybe a 90 rating would be appropriate.
CATCH17;3459077 said:Dwight Freeney is a 97 overall?
Well Ware should be a 98 at worst then. They aren't = players.
