If anybody heard him say on tonights game that the 70's team would beat an all 90's team. Who would be on the all 70's? 'll try to name my all 90's.

QB= Marino, Elway, Aikman[Joe M was more of the 80's}
RB= Emmitt, Barry, Thurman,
WR= Rice, Irvin, Sharpe, AReed, Fryar
TE= Sharpe, Ben "winter" Coates
OL= Allen, Boseilli, Bruce Matthews,Dawson, EWilliams[I know, but they we're the best in that era}

DL= Reggie, Bruce Smith, John Randle, Jerome Brown
LB= Derrick Thomas, Junior Seau, Kevin Greene
DB= Deion, A.Williams, Darrell Green, Rod Woodson,Leroy Butler

guys like Ronnie Lott etc I considered more 80's

Who would win? Who did I leave off the team that bugs you?

Hard to judge really.

Players were not as athletic, but they were 10x more resourceful 30 years ago.

I think you misheard him. The only thing John said was "Boom", continuously, for 3 hours straight.

I don't think you can fairly compare teams from these 2 eras. Players are much bigger and faster these days due to improved strength & conditioning.

I like this team

http://www.answers.com/topic/nfl-1970s-all-decade-team

Like someone posted above, the only difference is the weight training/conditioning and resulting size and speed. I can't deny it would give the '90s team possibly an insurmountable edge.
Of course if the guys in the '70s had the training technology and didn't have to work regular jobs in the off-season, due to mostly low NFL salaries, the difference would be nil.
As it was, the comparision is silly and unfair.

I think if the 80s team beat the 70s team... the 70s team would beat them up in the parking lot after the game!!!

Honestly I think Favre is more deserving of a 90's team then Marino. That's the only one that really sticks out to me. Eh I kinda thing Steve Young should maybe fit it there somewhere also, maybe instead of Elway. And I'm with Norv, I wanna win, Troy starts.

Are they playing with 70's or 90's rules? The 90's wrs would never catch a ball if they were allowed to play with 70's rules.

Marino belongs on the 80s team .. not the 90s, IMO. I think I would also put Elway or, more appropriately Favre on there.

Irvin would thrive in the 70s. That physical style of play would be perfect for him.

I don't because it left off Randy White, Mel Renfro and Tony Dorsett. All three were Hall of Famers yet they weren't good enough to make the All-70s team? Ludicrous!

Well, Dorsett did only play 3 years in the 70s(77, 78 & 79). He was a Pro-Bowler only in 1 of those years. He went to the Pro-Bowl 3 times in the 80s.
