I wouldn't put much stock into it. The NFL just wanted the Giants to cover the eight point spread (I think that is the terminology). After the miss, the Giants drove down the field and got favorable penalties (including the personal foul penalty on Parsons that no one saw) until they scored a TD to make it 28-20.

Would suck if NFL has become fake like wrestling. Nothing to stop it really. Owners want ratings and that is how you would do it.

Let try to realize that all kickers miss one every now and then -- demanding perfection isn't fair-minded, nor reasonable.

Nobody "had to" make that comment. Being paranoid is truly not an excuse. Expecting 100% sucks, any way you slice it.

He’s always been inaccurate to my knowledge in that 35-50 range.

Before this year, yes. Before yesterday he was 3-3 from 40-50, so small sample size.

I thought that was a big miss, not a huge one, but it could have been important in a similar situation with maybe a minute or two more on the clock. We have to be able to count on Maher to make those in critical situations.

After today's miss, he's 18-for-20 the last two seasons from that range. In his earlier stint with Dallas, not so good.

He missed one today. It happens. It didn't matter...except for the folks who bet Dallas -10.
