we have been so predictable and stagnant at rb for years. Change can be a great thing in itself. I like diversity at rb. 3 guys running it is far better than 1 bell cow. Which is why I'd draft a rb within the first 4 rds. Doesn't need to be a rb at 26.

no. Davis is not the answer. he doesn't come through the Dallas doors, drink the kool aid and some how become special. he is not special. he is a 3rd stringer. needs to remain a 3rd stringer. and I liek Davis. I just don't see all the love he gets from some people. more like wishing him to be something he is not.
That's pretty harsh about a lad you or I have rarely seen in a game.
I don't think Davis is the answer. But neither was Zeke the past 3 years.
Too much extremism in this CZ

We know the answer to this, but being a slow time before the draft. The question from a fan was still asked.
There is some interesting info though from their answers.

We know it will be Pollard, but it was mentioned, can Jones give him a challenge.
Davis had some combine numbers right there with Zeke and Tony.

Or will it be a drafted RB?
Yes,

now that Moores gone plenty of Rbs can get extra carries vs 16 run called and leave this guy on the bench, not one series as a runner after pollards injury, no excuse for him not getting 6 + carries in that game..you dont leave bullets in a gun in a war.. Moore got fired over it, last straw.. great camp battle for B/U RB spots

I have seen him in a game. coaches have seen him in practice and in games.

its not extremism. its reality. undrafted FA RB, who has had trouble sticking and is working his way up through PS and all these other RB needy teams didn't sign him to their squads.

we cowboys fans have learned to set the bar so low and get excited oh so easily.

he is a feel good story. a long shot, making it into NFL. we all pull for the little guy

Showed strong against pre season competition. A good and versatile spot action change of pace back. Complimentary piece.

*Looked over matched against 49er dee as did the starting running backs.
Our o line looked over matched.

against a lot of dees.

Maybe he just wasn't ready yet? Running the ball is one thing. Picking up blocking assignments is totally different and takes time with many backs
How much classroom time does it take to be see a blitz and block a guy ? How many years ? It's not the easiest thing a RB does, but c'mon man. I just don't think the staff thought he was an option at all. Why was he on the roster.

Well, recognizing where a blitz is coming from and who is blocking whom does take some mental understanding of blocking schemes

The team will draft a RB high, and that rookie will become the #2 eventually. That leaves Davis in a 3-way battle for the third RB spot. Initially, either Davis or Jones might snag the #2 spot behind Pollard until the rookie develops. That will be the interesting battle IMO. Jones should have the edge, as he is a seasoned vet and will have the trust of the team to handle all aspects of the position.

I answered a simple question that was asked, now you take issue, because I answered the question.
and facts are provided. I don't have any impact on any determinations of what happens to him. you want me to say he is oh so great and awesome and has a bright future? it won't make a difference in the outcome of what happens to him.
what we do know is that he was a PS player. got called up. nobody picked him up from 31 other teams to be their 3rd string RB and that we are probably looking for another RB, in fact having signed Jones this off season....that should tell you everything you need to know about him..... doesn't mean I don't like him or not pulling for him....

make of it as you wish. your choice.

I find it interesting they sign Jones without a belief he plays this season. Many here believe he's fighting for a place once camp starts

Your reading comprehension is off, again.
As I stated, I don't think Davis is the answer.
But as I also stated, chap, Davis has rarely been seen by you or us, but of course the experts like you have come to bury him.
31 other teams also have not gone after many players. So what?

I think Malik Davis is more likely to be depth than a starter. Once we get someone in the draft to serve as a partner to Pollard, I'm expecting that to be his best bet with Dallas. Of course, I'm assuming we'll get sign a RB with great talent. The upcoming draft seems to offer quite a few of those.

100% no. Now if he runs behind a great Oline, he can probably do some damage like most backs.
