We have to stop acting like Our Offense is pass first, Dak is literally taking the dump off if 88 isn't open down field. I don't completely blame 13, Cooks hasn't gotten going either
That was from the official dallas cowboys site...now act as if one had any real clue. Smart guy....

Given the way the Cowboys have looked the first two games, I can't complain. Still, I find it odd that Michael Gallup hasn't been more a part of the offense. Does this new "Texas Coast" offense not suit his style of play? Could he potentially be a trade candidate? I hate saying that because I like him and his skill set, but he doesn't seem very involved in the system so far.Adam Lopez/Frisco, TX

Nick Harris:
This new offense that we've seen in the first two weeks has been predicated on taking advantage of the short-to-intermediate game and getting the ball out quick. As a result, we've seen guys that can get open quickly such as CeeDee Lamb and Tony Pollard get active in the receiving game quite a bit, but for a guy like Michael Gallup who doesn't necessarily excel at releasing off the line and creating quick separation, it's made things difficult for him to get involved. With that being said, I think a solid opportunity awaits in Arizona for him to get involved more than we've seen in the first two weeks against an inexperience secondary. As for being a trade candidate, I wouldn't go that far just yet with Gallup considering that the talent is still there and the potential for him in this offense still exists. It will just take some creativity to find his permanent role.

Patrik: This marks the third time I've been posed this question this week and I'm not saying that to knock it, I'm saying it to provide validation that you're not the only one outside of the build who is asking it. I would have liked to see more from Gallup in Week 2 (rain and no need to take risks in Week 1) but, in the absence of Brandin Cooks, it was Jalen Tolbert stepping up as the secondary contributor in the receiving corps, the tight ends notwithstanding. But that doesn't mean, yet, that he's a square peg in a round hole. He also wasn't really targeted against the Jets, but Tolbert was, and I could argue both sides of the coin as to why that might've been. In all, it's still only Week 3 and not even the Cowboys know what the "Texas Coast" offense looks like at full throttle, so how can fans and analysts? And, for that reason, I'll reserve judgment on the fate of Gallup in this new-look offense — feeling his skill set will come into play on more than one occasion this season and, if it does, then that'll answer the question. And, if it doesn't, that will answer the question as well. With 15 regular season games remaining and [hopefully] a playoff run, let's not go throwing away a former 1,000-yard receiver in mid-September.
Why is it odd? He's a #3 guy here now and has mostly played outside in two blowout games where we didnt throw as much. The Jets game he was on the outside and they had two great corners.

More situational than anything.

Umm sure dude lol because they are always on it
You came crying to me about a sports writer's article who has been with the home site for a ton of years. Multiple writers were quoted and for the reasons that they stated...I'm not about to start marrying up with a biased statement used by yourself. You have zero credability with me. If you can't even build a conversation for discussion purpose go find someone else that kisses your butt or get real in your own discussion. Rootie toot toot you don't believe a single thing provided. So what you don't have merit in conversation beyond saying you don't care about the why's provided YOU!

Start a conversation instead with leeblair...another trull. You are being little more than an insult looking for opportunity to happen. Enjoy yourselves...

The Gallup haters in here got it all figured out already.
I dont think its just Gallup haters, individuals are taking notice of his lower production when hes getting paid for way more. I hope Gallup does earn his paycheck at some point.

Its all about whats good for the Cowboys and root for everyones success.

I am by no means a Gallup hater. Loved what he did before his injury, his dances on the sidelines with that great catches were awesome. Wrote about it here too quite a few times.

Yet he is the main candidate for a trade in case we need another half decent corner. With Tolbert stepping up and all those TEs I'd rather have another CB in for depth than being this deep at WR. Him and a draft pick could get us something good on defense.

But that's just me. We will be fine either way. They should wait for the SF game at least before making a move if any

I don't feel like either analyst actually answered the question.

He doesn't fit the system but that is not his fault. It does not mean he cannot be productive, but running short routes creating separation is not his forte. He is a 'go up and get it' type that fits more a downfield passing game. I think they could work him on some screens, and perhaps some in the slot, to see if creating some space for him creates more opportunities. Though I am no expert.

2 games and both blowouts. Let’s give it some time and it's possible this game won’t give us a good read either So don’t put too much weight in this one either.

gallup isn't worth anything though. nobody is giving up a CB for him.

If you are being honest with yourself, what would Gallup fetch on the open market in a trade? Let’s hope he picks up steam here.

I actually think it may be Tolbert time sometime down there inside our 40, 35...hit em with 4 WR and let it rip, safety valve a screen to live another day..

Tomorrow 6 catches 120 yds all let it rest.
Watch.

Gallup will have 100 yard game in one of the next three.

I eat my words if he doesn't.

I still have faith. That's my dog!

(But he does need to step it up a notch or.two.)
