More like Broaddus does. Have not seen one person within the decision-making or coaching staff say that. It seems to be Broaddus and those parroting him within his ranks.

It's amazing how much influence Broaddus end up having. Other local media and his own guys parrot what he says and then fans start parroting it. Something can end up all over the local media and message boards and often I'm fairly certain that it all originated with Broaddus.

It can be as simple as such and such player is having a terrible training camp. I first hear it from Broaddus, then his minions, then local sports talk radio, then the local paper, then the message boards; however, once the preseason games start and the camera are actually recording what happens the truth is often completely the opposite of what was reported while the cameras were not running.

If anyone really believes Tony will play at this level for another 4 or 5 years, then I have a bridge in Brooklyn to sell you.

He'll be lucky to last one more year. Not drafting his replacement is dooming us to more Quincy Carters and Chad Hutchinsons.

No. We carried a young QB on our 53 all year for the first time since way back before Romo. Why draft another young QB? Makes no sense to me.

I frankly do not believe that Marinelli is going anywhere. I just think this idea that he wants to be with his friend in a place thats known as the arm pit of the NFL is absurd. Tampa doesn't need Marinelli. I think they are happy with their defense and Leslie Frasier. So if he does go to Tampa he'll not only take a paycut, but he'll have to be a Dline coach or even a positions coach. He will have less to say on the direction of the defense and his impact will be minimal on defense.

Marinelli is wanted in Dallas. Correction. He is needed in Dallas. He has built himself a defense with his fingerprint all over it. People here respect him and the FO has come to respect him as well. Thus I don't think he's going to just leave Dallas just like that.

He has great power here to forge his name into this defense and to make a name for himself as a great DC. Great power comes great responsibility. Marinelli is a man with a heavy conscious. He knows what he has to do here in Dallas to make this a top notch defense. He won't leave just like that for a position in Tampa in which he will have little or no impact. I just don't think he will do it. He is much needed here and he knows it.

He deserves to be the DC in Dallas and Dallas wants him to be the DC here. Going to Tampa will just waste his life and for what? He will be lost and forgotten if he goes to Tampa.

Why? He is playing he's best football right now and hasn't shown to be slowing down. Heck Elway won a superbowl at age 37. Brady and Peyton are 36 and 37 respectively and they are playing at an all time level as well. I think he has a few more great years ahead of him.

You have forgotten Stephen McGee.

I envy you.

He was the developmental third QB on the roster from 2009-11.

People keep talking about loyalty. What about Monte? We showed him loyalty. And Rod is loyal to Monte.

And I mean...Dallas --> Tampa?

Yes Monte is still here and Marinelli has a good thing going. A good defense on a playoff team plus a offseason that will focus on defense.

Plus perhaps he is loyal to Garrett

I may get shot down but I hope the DC stays this defense is a good draft and some FA pick ups away from being average to above average.

A really loyal coach, and Jerry Jones, (who has had the issue of being loyal to a fault,) seem like a great match. Throw in Garrett, Kiffin, and a surging defense that was widely viewed as likely to be 'worst in the NFL'; these all seem to be good reasons for Marinelli to stay. I think Marinelli appreciates the organizational respect. I think he stays.

Anytime Broaddus says X will happen and fails to give concrete, well-supported reasons for it, I just assume Y will happen.

Dude seems like a nice guy and very knowledgeable on certain subjects, but other times he shoots from the hip and kind of comes off like a clown, honestly.

Ken Norton.

In the unlikely event that Marinelli did leave my 3 choices would be:

1. Pat Narduzzi, who just took the HC job at Pitt
2. Gus Bradley, who appears will get another year in Jacksonville
3. Ken Norton, Jr.

Ken has paid his dues (Assistant Head Coach at USC, Linebackers Coach for the Seahawks) and is ready to be a coordinator IMO.

If TB has a repeat of this season Lovie and all his assistants will be canned. It wouldn't make sense to leave Dallas to go to TB. The loyalty factor can also apply to his tenure here. I'm sure he's bonded with people here.

Money still talks.

And it's Eberflus' job if Marinelli goes. Ro would sign elsewhere if we did anything different. And he deserves his shot.

Regards the Tony question, I can see Tony playing several more years that said;
we have to be ready for his decline or debilitating injury. There are some markers
everyone should pay attention to. Age and recent injury history would seem a good indication
to scout for a another back up QB maybe not this year but soon.
