Make It Rain: Report to Cowboys' minicamp or prepare to pay up

http://cowboyswire.usatoday.com/201...ort-to-cowboys-minicamp-or-prepare-to-pay-up/

This is the third week and final of voluntary OTA workouts for the Cowboys and, at present, attendance is still not at full throttle. There were some key absences for varying reasons up to this point, but most of those have been resolved.

Defensive lineman Jack Crawford was prevented from leaving England due to issues with his visa, for example, and has now since reported to Valley Ranch for practice; and he’s displeased with having to miss even voluntary workouts.

“It worked out for me — probably as quick as I could do it — but it’s just very inconvenient time of year for me, because OTAs are starting,” Crawford said to ESPN.com. “I didn’t want to miss OTAs, and now I feel like I’m behind trying to catch up, but it was all right. Everything worked out and went smoothly.”

Others such as offensive guard Ronald Leary and middle linebacker Rolando McClain are still on the hook, though, as both are still no-shows to OTAs. Leary is holding out for a trade and McClain has undisclosed family issues; both drawing noticeable frustration of the Dallas front office...

Getting really tired of McClain's yearly offseason's act!!

Time to show Mr. McClain the door. Not really a team player and does not seem to value preparing for the season. The
Cowboys have other player's who could man the position for the year. Nzeocha, and a few others could vie for the position.
McClain may have talent but, no football heart. Get rid of him before he gets injured and you have to pay him for the year.

As long as the workouts are considered "voluntary", we'll just have to get over it when players don't show up. The coaches don't like it, but there is nothing they can do about it. You can say they will remember it come contract time, but if Rolando comes in and balls out this season, no one will care. I think everyone would take that exchange.

I bet Mcclain fails another drug test before the season starts.

...and if he doesn't show up...as Jay Z says..."on to the next one". Avatars are as easy to change as bubble gum.

I've defended McClain in the past and love what he brings to the field when he is giving it his all, but it would definitely be nice to see him actually give a damn and be all in during the offseason for a change.

I don't know if the Cowboys care as much as fans do. Shrug.

McClain just doesn't like practice AT ALL!!!!! I almost hope whatever issue is going on keeps him away from the team all year long.

Doesn't seem as if they do. Can't say that I blame them though.

The positives and potential have outweighed the negatives, so far.

I think they understand what type person and player they have in Ro McClain. He's still cheap talent with huge upside.

However, I think they may grow tired of him when Jaylon Smith gets healthy and is ready to assume the role. Then again, you team even a sometimezy (as my old girlfriend used to say) McClain with a healthy Smith and a healthy Lee, and you could be looking at the football version of the three horsemen of the Apocalypse. ;)

Three horsemen of the Apocalypse indeed, my friend.

Relieved to hear the fines will be severe for those missing minicamp. Ro shouldn't be missing those practices.

Being under a one-year deal shouldn't afford him the luxury of being conveniently absent with "family issues."
