Some fans have recently posted that the team has quit on lame duck head coach McCarthy. This is an inaccurate assessment as no one reports to Big Mac, they all report to Jerry. So ans this miserable season progresses and we see players giving a half baked effort, realize they are quitting on Jerry.
Jerry coddles them like a generous grandpa. They would NEVER quit on him.

Players quit as a team once it’s clear they aren’t very good. By “quit,” I mean that wins and losses no longer matter….but any player who is fine putting out bad individual film and hurting themselves is a fool.

Jerry’s list of flaws isnt short, but coddling the players, wanting to be liked by them, as well as giving direct access is way up there.
The only players 'quitting' are the ones who have already been paid.

Do you ever get tired of blaming Jerry for literally everything? He's responsible for a lot but the play is on the coaches. These guys aren't just getting outplayed, the scheme is one of the worst in the NFL and the players come out of the gate looking sloppy and unprepared. The play calling doesn't seem to have any purpose, just running random plays. That's the coaching staff. You can't blame the players if they quit on this staff. Everyone knows they will all be gone after this season (if they make it that far). That is on Jerry.

until they leave and go to their other team and start talking about us
Former players and coaches have never really said too much about the Jerry Carnival of football mgt, which is not a big leap of faith to cite NDAs as the reason.

They are quitting on MM, Jerry is their gravy train. MM has fixed nothing in 4 1/2 seasons same bone head decisions, same penalty mistakes, no discipline, offense getting worse since he took over, putrid performance against Playoff contenders. Players aren’t stupid they know what MM is, a very poor leader who’s infected the team with his laidback approach and entitled attitude, Jerry’s ultimately responsible for the state of the franchise and most know MM is just mailing it in at this point.
How can McCarthy or any coach since Jimmy be held accountable for failures when Jerry constantly overrules their decisions, undermines their authority, hires staff for them, holds press conferences simultaneously with the so called hc after games, acquire players without consulting the hc, do tons of interviews about schemes and game plans (in the five days Jerry indicated he had a special package to bring in Trey Lance), and do everything he can to undercut any hint of power the Dallas hc may try to exercise. But I will say, my observations are limited to the past quarter of a century. Just sayin …

You can’t make chicken salad out of chicken…you know what.

The players played just fine for McCarthy the past 3 years. They are simply outmanned this season with the roster the front office put together. The whole world knew the Cowboys needed to get better at stopping the run and running the ball. The DLine, Oline, and RB’s all got worse in the off-season. Add in injuries to an already extremely shallow roster and it’s been a worst case scenario season.

I’m not saying McCarthy is a great coach or that he would have ever taken the team over the top, but I really don’t believe any coach could have saved this season.
This!

If I were the players I would feel like ownership quit on them over the off-season.

They expected to contend, but they clearly needed some help and got nearly nothing.

I feel that way as a fan. If these players aren’t upset over that since they are just there for the check, well…wouldn’t shock me I guess.
I feel the same way.

Wrong this team quit on Prescott as the GB Deer in the headlights was the final straw (esp after the 2 Niner playoff losses where they gave 110%) to lose out due to lack of offensive points and T/O.
Now they witness Jerry Giving the man they hold responsible (Just ask CD Mama) for holding them back from Ring land a massive extension and baby they have had enough of Jerry and his favorite son Dak.
Simply stated they are NOT willing to carry #4 any longer......The End.

P.S. They might lose today but watch how they play harder for Rush........patience just watch.

My point is the Dallas hc has very little power. They can’t hire their own staff for starters. Who is the architect of that? We wonder why we can’t mk a deep playoff run and I’ll start with the debilitating culture where the hc is a chump figurehead with no power. No player respects a hc with no power and that creates a culture that presents so many obstacles in the way of winning when it really matters. It is such an obstacle to winning that zero NFL teams follow the Jones model of a chump hc with no power. 31 other teams know better. Who am I to blame for that? The chump hc whose only role is to play the scapegoat role when “Jerry is tired of losing”?

I will never tire of laying blame where it belongs and after being a fan since 1972 when I saw my first game, I think I’ve earned the right to complain.

It’s not Daks fault Jerry overpaid him or that Jerry sabotaged the offseason. Dak has been bad but the whole team was set up for failure by the inaction of our beloved fuhrer.

I’m with you on Jerry but coaches know this coming in, Jerry going to practice, meetings, the PR man , unfortunately MM still hasn’t stopped enabling him, all he has to do at this point is do what he wants, what does he have to lose at this point, this tells me he’s still hoping for a extension by simply taking the easy route saying yes Jerry. He’s weak as a leader beating up watermelons isn’t being tough it’s a sad gimmick. The saddest thing is the next coach isn’t going to be hired unless he fits the mold of a yes Jerry man. IMHO the Cowboys the last 29 years are where head coaches come grab a payday, throw their self respect away, and are a side show in the circus, then fade away knowing they are finished

I don't think they have quit on Big Mike. The team just isn't nearly as good as the '21, '22, or '23 teams. They are not good. No a lot of talent added and a lot lost gives the fans what you see on the field in 2024.

I’m not much of a McCarthy fan but I honestly don’t think there is a coach around that can win under all the restrictions Jerry puts on his hc. And the way Jerry undervalues, underpays, and undermines his head coach, I don’t think it matters who the hc is.

No one is blaming Dak for saying yes to a big payday.
His teammates (including their family members) blame him for the team's failure to advance further in the playoffs.
Think about it would you give it all for Mr. 60 million who can't carry the load of that paycheck?
I wouldn't ............just collect my check and yada yada yada yada yada.................

Any NFL player concerned with another NFL player’s compensation is not truly a professional.

Unfortunately, it seems every player, coach, scout, etc all have to sign an NDA effectively preventing them from saying anything about the ridiculous circus atmosphere and obstacles to winning that Jerry’s reign of terror creates.
Ok while I can see the Cadaver and his moron son being this immature and petty, is there any actual evidence of this? I would think telling any bad truths about any franchise would lead to an unofficial "blacklist" by the owners. The thought being "even if it's true about the Jones's O can't risk this coach coming here and telling the truth about me"

Guess you have no idea how a locker room functions.
Or society for that matter.
Sorry, but you opened the door.
