Making the playoffs

Talk about things falling into place. Goodness. Even with all the injuries I didn't expect the Pats to lose that. Eagirls didn't even play that great themselves. I don't take that win away from them but the way they won.....just carelessness by the Pats.

It really opens up the possibility of a three-way tie in the division in which case we have little chance of winning. Every team seems to run into a little luck this year except this Cowboys team.

Call me crazy but I if we make the playoffs with a sub .500 record then the NFC East and the NFL in general have totally gone downhill from the good ole days. It is embarrassing.

Has anyone said how soon Romo could come back if this were to happen. We might be able to get to the playoffs with Cassel, but I wouldn't want to try to see him play in a game. Is 6 weeks at all reasonable (which would be in time for the divisional round)

I heard it mentioned the other day that his timetable is 5-7 weeks.

Dilfer said last night that Romo was seen throwing during pregame warmups.

If a miracle was to happen and we made the playoffs, I believe he could be back for the wildcard weekend. How much he'd be ready or how rusty he'd be would be the real question.

I think GB is more winnable than Buff or NYJ. Not sayin they'll win but GBs O Line is awful. Rogers covers a lot of blemishes.

Especially Buffalo, I think many posters on here are not understanding how difficult it will be to beat that team in Buffalo.

Yeah, that game will be a huge challenge since they have a real good defense filled with trench players who can cause havoc.

NFC Championship is the earliest according to Norm Hitzges.

if we all finish 7-9 but beat the skins we are division champs. 4-2 divisional record.

In a 3 way tie, the tie breaker is common opponents, not division record.

edit: scratch that. I've underestimated our chances.

Not if the Eagles beat the Giants and Skins.

That's true. That also means that the Eagles can't be eliminated before week 16 even if they lose their next two and the rest of the division wins their next two.

That would be huge. I don't care if he is rusty. Romo at 10% is better than Cassel at 100%. With the #5 defense (at least in terms of yards, and realistically points, yes I know not enough takeaways) and a potentially eventually healthy Romo they could do some damage still as weird and scary as that sounds. Though I do agree with the forecasters that there is only about a 1 in 10 chance of making it.

Heh, I set ESPN's playoff machine to fill in winners based on power rankings. Then I changed it so that Dallas beats Washington and Buffalo, and Washington loses to Chicago.

Dallas wins the division with 6 wins lol.

Wouldn't this be just the year if some how, some way we win the division get hot and make it to the SB!

What a wild ride that would be.

I need to quit drinking.......

And that doesn't seem all that unrealistic. Can you imagine the outcry if a 6 win team won the Super Bowl lol.

I hope some people don't get their hopes up too much. The higher you are the bigger the fall.

I was just going to post that. The Pack game I would think would be pretty winnable if they didn't have the extra time to heal up and prep and we weren't traveling on a short week. It's still winnable, though. BUF is like an honorary NFCE team here at the end of the year with the affect they get to have on the division. Only with a slightly better record.

It's too bad it's such a long shot that it won't happen, but how much fun would it be for Jason Garrett to take an 8-8 team, get Romo back and playing well, hit our stride and some how sneak into the Superbowl and win the whole thing? Come on, you guys know you'd secretly love the irony of it.

It's a good think you're hear to help keep us on the level. I've had my hopes for a football team hurt before, and it's just brutal. Much safer just to cash it all in early not feel it so much when the end finally comes.
