It's too bad it's such a long shot that it won't happen, but how much fun would it be for Jason Garrett to take an 8-8 team, get Romo back and playing well, hit our stride and some how sneak into the Superbowl and win the whole thing? Come on, you guys know you'd secretly love the irony of it.

It's a good think you're hear to help keep us on the level. I've had my hopes for a football team hurt before, and it's just brutal. Much safer just to cash it all in early not feel it so much when the end finally comes.

Hope for the best but expect the worst, my friend. It will help your sanity.

I would love it and wouldn't care. It would go down as the most improbable season in NFL history. With the Gents being a close 2nd.

But I would still fire JG. ;)

I know, I know. I do tend to do that for the less-frivolous things in my life, actually. But I can handle my football-hopes getting dashed. As much as I love it, it's just an annual competition. It's not the end of the world, just the end of a season.

Which is why I probably have such a hard time comprehending not wanting the team to win every possible game every time they play. That's kind of the point, to see how good they really are.

If he got fired for 8-8 and a Superbowl, I'd even laugh at that. Nothing else you could do.

Seriously, though. If we'd just stop turning the damn ball over, or start taking the damn ball away, we kind of somehow have a decent shot at this division. It's kind of crazy. I don't care if he's throwing passes with what looks like a clean break of his forearm, Cassel's at least taking care of the football. If he can just feed Dez a little bit more without throwing picks, and everybody else can somehow manage to not fumble while holding it with both hands, we've got as good a shot as anybody. Assuming, of course, we get the GB team of the last 6 weeks and not the team from the first 6 weeks of the season this Sunday.

I have NEVER wished for a loss although I have expected it a few times. Call me a huge Romo fan who is anti-Garrett based on the results on the field. Oh how I wish Garrett could change my mind with actual results that extend beyond just one season. I call them like I see them and just one successful season does not a coach make.

Didn't we fire both Jimmy and Barry shortly after Super Bowl wins lol.

That's me exactly.................I have never rooted for a loss, although I tend to agree with a large segment of the fan base that says a higher draft pick is more beneficial long term since the odds of winning the division are still pretty low. Their argument of missing the playoffs with 4 wins is better than missing the playoffs with 6 wins is not an irrational point of view.

Of course that is contingent on the expectation that 6 wins does not win the East this year:laugh:
