Why does that matter? The play was still made and the runner was out. That's like complaining that the fielder made the play too difficult because he dove to field the ball when he didn't have to. If the play was still made, who cares how it was done?

Maybe someday MLB will finally reach the 21st century and use replay. Selig had an opportunity to make things right, and he chose not to. Absolutely ridiculous, especially considering his follow up statements about consulting with unions and a committee, and the importance of getting the call right on the field...in the who-knows-how-long future of course.

I have sent a scathing email to Selig, not that it will do any good. But maybe, just maybe, how can this idiot dodge this firestorm?

I do feel bad for Joyce though. I was reading the article on espn and his family was lashed out at. Absolutley no excuse for that. You can blame Joyce but leave his innocent family out of it.

Totally uncalled for, I absolutely agree. In fact, even going after Joyce himself is uncalled for. The man cried and apologized for God's sake. The person to go after is Selig. He turned his back on righting a wrong, when he had the sole power to make it right.
