Mana Silva released

Queue the overreaction crowd... He was an average at best safety folks.

That's not the point. He seemed to do what he was supposed to do and he was at a position we're thin at. He had potential. And we let him go for a punter.

Releasing one of the WRs(Beasley or Holmes) would have made more sense at this point.

We still have 8 DB and only 5 wr and it is very possible he will be back in a couple weeks

People heard Irvin calling him Troy Polamalu after the last preseason game and now suddenly Silva's got "potential" :laugh2: He wouldn't even have made the roster if McCray didn't start the season out injured

Silva played division I football and has more career INTs than Johnson who not only played in a lesser division but stayed in school longer. Silva is also a converted QB who only played safety for 2 years in college. And McCray was a career backup at LSU.

But of course, your uninformed arse knows better. Laugh it up chuckles.

And Silva is no longer on the team so the Cowboys found him expendable also. Not sure what you are arguing about. And college does not equal NFL.

If college does not equal NFL then why is johnson still on the team? He has done squat in the NFL. See how that argument works?

Cowboys do not always cut the right players, they are not infallible. There have been some good players they have let go who went on to have pretty decent careers:

Jim Zorn, Todd Christensen, Jimmy Smith, Ron Stone, Brian Waters, etc.

And who are you to dictate what I "argue" about eric?

Silva is a journeyman in the least complimentary way. He is a worker hired to temp for another. I do like him but there are more Silva's out there.
This. He is so replaceable. Maybe it's because he has a cool name that people like him so much? It's odd how this board latches onto a player sometimes without any correlation whatsoever as to football ability.

Interesting you say that cause its something I've been thinking for a while. This board does tend to latch onto players, like we have adopted them or something.....exactly what Jerry does and gets talked bad about for doing.

Just cause someone is on the roster doesn't mean we are forced to defend him at all costs, especially when we are talking about a JAG. The ruing is always funny, 'the guy might break out somewhere', well he might but the likelyhood is very slim and who says that player would've broken out here cause there are just too many variables.

Like those posters who claimed Ken Hamlin was a top notch safety.

Either hurt or headed for PS....no biggie...possibly another move coming.

Apparently not.

DMN reported in today's paper that, of the three TDs given up passing by the defense, Silva was responsible for two of them. Maybe they add him to the PS but I think they might have seen enough.

Hey now, don't disrupt a good ruing of Silva with some facts.

I just looked at the 3 pass tds we've given up and I can only say the one against Seattle is on him. He wasn't on the field for the other 2. Maybe they mistook him for Church on Bennett in week 1? Or did I miss it?

Anyone know of Silva's middle initial was "T"?

Boy I sure hope so.

When Dominic Hixon made that deep catch. Silva didn't cover the deep half.
