Is Jerruh freeing up cap space to sign ware or does he have someone else in mind?
even if we sign Springs as rumors claim, he is not going to cost that much.
By moving Henry we freed up a fair amount while getting the Vet backup QB we obviously wanted. Brooking takes care of the ILB slot need at the moment though there is no doubt we will be drafting at least one there.
If the plan is to move Springs to Safety then we can jettison Roy. If that is so then we will also be drafting another CB since we really now only have 3 if Springs is going to FS.
Everyone agreed that our 3 big needs were ILB, FS, QB backup. We now have taken care of all three. Anything else is gravy.

Allan Ball played good when he played. When Henry got hurt against Tampa Bay, and the Bucs had a zillion chances to beat Dallas, Ball was one of the young corners holding up. I like him as the number 4 guy.

I say we take the absolute best player available in the draft regardless of position ... even if it means K, P, QB, or FB.

We can use good players throughout the team.

I am not saying I agree with this, or endorse it.

But what if they are planning to move RW38 to linebacker on certain downs?

May be laughable, but thought I would toss that out.

Just do not see Roy as a part time LB- and that is what he would be.

Maybe in the dime package...

He's played at over 230 so it wouldn't be hard to get to 240 in a few months and get some more upper body and squat more. He's going to be a better cover LB than most LBs. But he's never played LB before. He'll have to spend an entire offseason and camp trying to learn it. JMO.

i'd like to see us sign springs.
i'd like to see us put some more depth on the OL

but we need go lock up ware this year. he is our focus to sign.

All I know is, if we don't address the OL, we're in trouble.....again....just like I said at the start of LAST year.

I'm not sure why that is hard to understand....

but...

I think it is more about getting our guys to play to their potential than it is a total overhaul...

Our guys have no lateral movement...quick DE, DT, NT are gonna get pressure...

there are drills that can be done to improve lateral movement and these guys need to spend all offseason working on it.
