Every year at this time I start this thread and every year there are many who disagree.

Well, I'm sayin' it again.

He threw some REALLY bad passes today.

Well, I won't argue this year. I think despite what Steve Young says about not getting flat during long layoffs, the Colts look hungover everytime.

he was still about 22-38 for 290 yards. Not to shabby to be laying on his back most of the game and at least he showed some balls going for it on fourth down, more than I can say for his head coach.

He choked big time. The only reason he had so many yards was that they were down so early in the game. Peyton had arguably the best OL, Top 3 WR corps, and a very solid defense, and he still couldnt get it done, AT HOME. Throw all the TD's in the regular season, and chuck up 4500+ yards, but htat doesn't bode well for most players. Aikman, Montana, Young, Brady, all of them usually threw in the 3000+yrds area. Montana and Young both only surpassed 4000 once in their careers. Peyton Manning is a great fantasy QB, but he pretty much has choked in every major playoff game he has played in. Granted he rolled Denver last year, but the second it got down to playing the best TEAMS in the NFL, he folded.

When I saw how the Steelers DC had a great game plan for the Colts and got pressure all day on him....it just makes me wonder why are we even wasting time with Zimmer. Get ridda the moron and get Capers. Caper can give us a D like what the Steelers have.

Every chance you get, isn't it. Get us 2 OLB like Porter and Haggans, and we can do that to. 19.5 sacks between those 2. Ware and Fujita/Singleton combined for 10. Ware is one guy we have. We need another. Zimmer, Capers, and WIlliams would all have the same problem.

I am with you right there. I have been saying since his Tennessee days. Now, mind you, I like Manning, at least among the QB that year, but every year a different excuse as to why Manning failed in Playoffs.

I am sure there will be excuses as I see in this thread about why he failed. I was telling my buddy, in bar today, watch Peyton's Body language as things start going wrong and you know why he is a loser in big games.

Manning's problem, I believe, is that he has had a lot of things handed to him in his life.
Genetically, he is the son of a professional athlete. He grew up with that father teaching him everything he knew about the game.
I am not saying PM(and his crybaby little brother) didn't have to work hard to get where he is, but he had some huge advantages along the way.
I don't know that learning how to deal with the type of adversity he faced today is something he has much experience with.

I agree with this assessment, and when given everything, like control of the ENTIRE Indy Offense your bound to muck it up at some point.

Bright kid, but he has been given too much responsibility and he puts too much on his own shoulders.

i also have said repeatedly that Manning is a big game choke, i still think he is a good QB, but i wouldnt pick him to QB my team if it were for all the marbles, lets give some props to Ben Roethlisberger, man that kid is gonna be something, also i wonder what Hostile will say about this debacle from Manning and the Colts, this was there year, home field advantage, much improved defense and they go 1 and out. sad sad.
