I remember something said yesterday in Norm's draft coverage. A slow dope smoking WR isn't a great pick.

Dudes, not to get all political here, but I know surgeons who "smoke dope" every day. Also, the greatest predictor of future success is past success. He's been very successful. Time will tell, but we've sat on our hands watching every single WR in this draft go off the board (many of the highest-rated WR's to our competitors in the NFC East) while our starters are both over 30 and one of them is coming off a career-threatening injury anyway.

If we're afraid to draft a WR (and there's reason to believe we are given our lousy track record there), then we need to swing a trade for another team's WR.

To pretend year-in and year-out that we're OK at WR is just not smart.

Good thing we have a butt kicking secondary.

Oh no, seems that someone has drunk the Kool-Aid. Which butt kicking secondary are you referring too? We have a decent secondary, not a butt kicking secondary. We still have the problem known as Roy Williams. Our secondary doesn't scare anyone.

Lets not pretend Manningham was some great player either. Theres reasons he slid all the way to the last pick of the 3rd round.

The Surgeons aren't likely to lose their job because of "smoking dope". Manningham will if he doesn't keep it under control.

Wasn't my statement so much as something I heard yesterday. I wouldn't be at all surprised if we had pulled him off our board because of the mixture of speed and character.

You mean a secondary that could very reasonably have 4 starting level CBs on the field at once isn't good?

Roy Williams ain't playing.....CB's are Newman and Pacman (with Jenkins at times) and Henry will take Roy's spot at safety.

Our secondary with Pacman and Jenkins added just got scary.

Bad character, bad route runner, pot smoker, 6 on his wonderlic.......ALL covered by ESPN and/or NFL Network. Didn't hear ONE good thing about this kid from any of the analysts........which probably means he'll be an all pro.

At my hospital they would yes I work IT in the medicinal field now. You realize nurses and doctors lose there jobs all the time because of getting addicted to prescription meds and get caught stealing them or illegal prescriptions etc. So it depends on the hospital most would fire you in a heartbeat the last thing they want to deal with is malpractice and the media over that.

Now if it is a private practice different arena the doc is his own boss

Henry won't start ahead of Roy unless it's on obvious passing downs.

Ok, I am willing to agree that in theory 4 potential starting level CBs could be a good thing. But people let's be realistic here. They haven't even played a down.

First of all, Jones has not been reinstated. We are hoping that he will be available. It doesn't seem that the commish is in a huge hurry to reinstate the example he made to the league. Plus, he has been out of the league for a year. Now granted he is not old by any means, but he has been out of play for a while. I'm sure he will need some time to get back to speed and get into the flow of the game. Look at Tank. He wasn't exactly tearing it up when he came back and he wasn't out for a year.

We still have to hope that Newman and Henry don't get injured during the year as it seems they often do. I like them both, but if they aren't on the field or hampered by injury, they aren't much help.

Roy. So the plan is to take him off of the field and move Henry to the safety position? I'm all for getting Roy out of the safety position, but how well will Henry play at safety? I don't know much about his past. Did he play that position at one point?

All I'm saying is that the secondary is not automatically great just because we got Jones and Jenkins. Be careful with the Kool-Aid.

Pacman may have been out for a year but that's what training camp and everything else is for, to get back into game shape for the season. Pacman is a great corner and return man, he will be great in Dallas.

Newman will be Newman; shutdown corner, no need to worry about him. Jenkins will play quite a lot as well and he is the most NFL-ready of all the CB's in the draft so he should be fine.

Roy is the only problem and he won't play very much. He will only be on the field if we are sure it's a run play. Henry can play safety and with his mobility and ball skills he will have no problems in coverage.
