How high will he go?
Was his speed ever in question? I thought the guy was a track star. Before the combine, I had him in the mid first round. I think he stays there. Maybe some teams down grade him b/c of his size. At least Freeny was 6-1, 268 lbs. He has a stocky build, unlike Manny, whose lanky.

He weighed in at 241lbs. No way he is drafted as a DE. I thought he might bulk up like Merriman did for the combine and loss the weight and run at his pro day. That allow you to have the best of both worlds. At 241, I think most teams will look at him as an OLB or a 2 year project for DE. He has to gain at a min 24 lbs to become an every down DE.

I think for OLB, he needs to pack on 10 - 15 lbs. Reminds me a lot of Willie McGinnest when he game out. 6-5, 240 and ran a 4.49 forty.

I'm pretty confidant he'll be there when we pick. At 241 lbs., I just don't see any team not running the 3-4 even looking at him until the 2nd or 3rd round. The question will be does Parcells want him. Parcells says the biggest factor in the conversion from DE to OLB in the 3-4 is smarts. Does he have them? He also doesn't like to stack against the run and is always trying to run around blocks.

And I remember someone wrote awhile back that he wouldn't run a 4.4

His numbers are more impressive than his football, IMO.
Many people thought the same of Merriman last year.

Lawson played out of position his first two years (OLB - 4-3). Many scouts think he is a better pass rusher than Mario Willimas. I think Lawson is the prototype 3-4 OLB.

He's got speed, but I think everyone already knew that. I wish he was a little bigger and stronger.

I still think he's going to be all over the map. Some teams are going to like him quite a bit more than others. Of course, all it takes is one team to like you...

If we landed this kid or Wimbley...I'd be happy. I think both are exceptional athletes that would be great opposite Ware for many years.

Sign Fujita to back up both positions....we'd be in great shape!

He jumped 39. Not as impressive as I would have thought given the picture that's been circulated of him jumping at the NCST workout. His teammate, Super Mario, jumping 40 inches at 280 lbs., now that's impressive.

Mark Anderson really impressed me today. He's another tweener that could move up to that early 2nd range. He was always thought to be a high motor/good Football IQ guy but not a great athlete. He tested among the best at his position in every drill today. He was the most impressive DE at the Senior Bowl and burned D'Brickshaw for a sack in the gam. Gocong also looked a lot more athletic today than previously thought.

Did he top your wish list?

He intrigued me. Seems like there's a large range of players projected for our range, and he seemed to be one of them that could fit a need as well.

Hell, people said the same about Ware, too.

Very good point. Merriman had production (8.5 sacks his last year). Ware had production (10.5 sacks last year). Just b/c they shine during the underwear olympics, should not lessen there value.

Some guys don't have production, but show up at the combine. The CB that Oakland drafted comes to mind - Fabin Washington. The guy was a late first day pick until he ran the 4.2 at the combine. That I can understand. But players like Lawson, Merriman, Vernon Davis and Ware I don't get. These guys are no Mike Mamula's.

Not sure they were wrong thou Dale. Ware is still making adjustments to the position. I think he will adapt and be fine but it's a valid concern. Some guys just can't go from hand down to playing in space.

If Manny Lawson and Chad Jackson were both avialable at 18, Dallas will take Jackson.

Anderson made some money today.

I thought Gocong and Haralson stood out in the drills as the most definitively fluid DL's... Did you get that impression as well?
