I love this pick. I thought he would be gone by the 5th round. The big thing is the kid pretty much catches everything and has good speed. He's like a slightly bigger, noticeably faster Amendola. Of course, he'll have to be adept at learning the playbook, get used to the physicality of the league and bring his skills to the field come game time, but I love this pick especially playing in the slot.

Depends on how he plays in preseason and training camp.

If he does well, they may keep 6 WR's which is not uncommon and keep him on the roster since he can play ST and they wouldn't want to lose him. Plus, he might be out Stanback who could be gone if he doesn't show marked improvement.

So far I'd say Roy, Austin, Crayton, and Hurd are pretty much guaranteed to make the team.

this kid is fast guys, im glad we got him, he might surprise some people... im saying he makes the team and shows what he can do, he could be for us what eddie royal was for the broncos last year... wat do you think???

Why Hurd? To me his value is ST's only as a tackler. He can't seperate as a WR. We've done enuf to replace him on STs I think. If Manny could actually impress at WR I could see him making the team over Sam.

Unless he's a special teams demon he's going to have a very difficult time even being part of the game day active roster. Until someone goes down with injury he probably won't even be suited up on gameday.

the last WR spot will go to ogletree or wilson. i think manuel's best chance is the PS.

I think Johnson got just as strong of a chance as these two.

As far as the special teams thing goes, I would put the pressure on Hurd to show he's a better receiver instead of it being the other way around with these three having to prove they can be gunners. We added enough special teams types with Smith, Mickens and even Buehler that he should have to show he's a better developmental receiver and not have a ticket to the roster via coverage units. Remember, this is now the fourth or fifth WR spot, not the fifth or sixth as it has been in previous years.
