Marcus Dixon - back-up NT??

Judas Priest. Too small and made the Pro Bowl.

He made the probowl by playing like a DE at NT. Sacks and TFL.
He'd be just fine at DE, and he can still rush from the inside as a DE in a 3-4

You mentioned a guy that made the pro bowl as an undersized NT in the 3-4.

I basically said, Ratliff nearly made it too, so what? Does not make it a good idea.

Ratliff is a pass rushing NT, he would make a wonderful 4-3 DT. But in this 3-4, he needs to move his butt over to an end position and move some fat guy in their to eat up blocks, Ratliff would definitely be a pro bowler then.
:lmao2:

Be sure to tell Coach Van Dam, he's the DC.

He would be even better if he had a good player to share the load.

NOt a good look for him. I said he almost made it, I was wrong, he made it. Problem is, he should not be there at NT, all of those sacks came from having Ware on the other side, and have all types of blitzes coming right up the gut.

Move that guy left or right, put some 325 pd monster in the middle, Ratliff would become unstoppable.

there's no problem with Rat at NT

what we really need is someone who can give us quality snaps at NT so that Rat can get a rest, he needs to be rotated instead of having to take part in 95% of our snaps

I have no problems moving him there when we go to 4 down linemen.

My problem is this. Since Ferguson has left, and let me say, I base things on what I see, I rarely go look up stats. Most of Emmitt's final stats were trash stats.

Anyways, what I've seen is this. Ratliff starts out strong in the run department. As the year goes on, he starts to wear down. Now when it's time to get after the QB, he's a demon. But having someone that's big, strong, we need that guy taking up 2 blockers.

Meanwhile, Ratliff can fight off 1 blocker mostly, turn this front line into a monster-like unit.

It's just my opinion though as always.

you know I respect your opinion Clove, always have, except for your skills on the court ;)

but that's what I'm saying, Rat won't wear down if he's getting quality rest, we need a player to rotate w/ him, in other words, an anti-Tank, "worthless" Johnson

I would have said eyesight since you base things on what you see.

I can't wait to take you one day youngster, it will be layup after layup. I'll just use that weight, back you down, and treat you disrespectfully. ;)

I think it's a mistake to take Ratliff off the field, honestly.

I saw 2 70+ yard rushing plays right down Ratliff's throat last year.
