not if you watched the Miami game...guy looked like he'd have a hard time making it on some high school teams

he's just another media creation...nobody thats 5'10 with an arm that couldnt hit the borad side of a barn ever makes it as a QB in the NFL, especially when you combine his thug behavior

David

his team won a few games, i admit i didnt watch them all, but in those i did, he made the plays to win the games

I guess it's a good thing for Marcus neither of these characteristics are attributable to him.

sure they are...I watched him throw, his accuracy is poor

and as for height, I guess you can find some listings of him being "6'0", however when he is standing next to other players on the field he clearly looks like one of the shortest, if not the shortest guy on the field...there are also those who say he is shorter than his brother, who is barely 6'0 (if that)

The Dolphins have gone from some of the worst QB corps in the leauge last year- Gus Frerotte, A.J. Feely, and Sage Rosenfels -to one of the best in the leauge- Daunte Culpepper, Joey Harrington, and Marcus Vick -that is if Daunte is healthy and back to 2004 form. I for one envy their setup.

I'd say that means they've gone from the worst QB corps in the league to.......still the worst QB corps in the league
Culpepper isn't going to be anything better than decent in Miami, that is if he ever makes a full recovery, which I'm not convinced he will that injury was pretty horrible
Harrington...garbage
Vick....lucky to make the roster this year....he's down two strikes already

I do however think that Miami is one good QB away from being very good though. Saban will get it done if they can find a QB.
I honestly wouldn't mind Saban taking over for BP when BP decides to leave. We have most of Saban's old players anyway...

everyone knows he has first round talent, hes just gotta get his head in the right place, if he does, miami will look brilliant

I read the other day that Vick is only six feet tall. If that is true, he will have to work really hard to make it as a quarterback.

People do realize that Miami taking a chance on him was contigent on his willingness to move to WR don't they?

I agree with basically everything dbair has said about Marcus' talent. I remember hearing how he was better than Michael and then watched like 4 VT games last year and came away thoroughly unimpresssed.

Why does everyone say this? Just because of his brother?

Every single draft analyst graded him as a latelate second day pick/undrafted based ONLY on talent.

He is NOT as quick as his brother and he is even less accurate.

So please stop saying he has all this talent, because he really doesn't. If he did someone would have picked him up during the draft. They always give guys like that a good look.

He won't even make the PS.

he has a better arm than michael in my opinion, the guy has the TALENT to be a first rounder.
how on earth can anyone argue that?
for what it's worth I have the talent to be a friggin astronaut...oh crap I gotta go make a delivery

people misunderstand analysts all the time its becoming more and more clear to me
they rated him a late late 2cd day based on talent because his talent couldnt out weigh the garbage he carries with him
talent all by its self he is first round.

I know most people don't care what a Commanders fan says but here goes

I got to see Marcus play live several times during his college career. The kid has the PHYSICAL tools to be a very successful NFL QB. I am curious how many people in this thread that have posted he doesn't have the physical tools actually saw him play live over the past 3 years

He has one of the nicest touches on a deep ball I have seen, has terrific speed (not like his older brother but good speed nonetheless) and his accuracy is riddiculous. He put the ball in places where it shouldn't have gotten to

He has all the physical talents to be great

What he didn't do was carry VT on his back in the 2 most important games of the yar, which his brother did during the 1999 season. He didn't come up with clutch plays which MV1 did in 1999.

He is going to be a long term project and it certainly will not happen overnight but he has the physical tools to be real successful in the NFL

And please, notice my emphasis on PHYSICAL ability. I honestly have no idea if he will pick up the NFL game at all

Argh, he does NOT have a better arm. And he is NOT a better prospect than his brother. And he does NOT have the talent to be a first rounder.

Not a single person afiliated with any NFL team has ever said that. But there have been numerous reports that he rated as a SECOND day pick from a talent point of view. His off field issues pushed him to being undrafted.

Look, there is no way someone with 1st round talent drops out of the draft all together. No matter what the circumstances are. He just doesn't have it.

If his last name wasn't Vick nobody would even mention him. Its the media doing all these stories that leads people to believe that he is actually a good player if not for the off field troubles. Not true.

Marcus has a more accurate arm than michael, although he cant run as well

Culpepper still had a better rating than Favre among others, so he was bad but still not the worst in football

Not really dude. Physically the guy is terrific

He only started one season at Tech, that was his biggest thing knocking him back. Only 12 games and less then 200 passes in college, you would don't have enough matieral to determine if the guy can be a first round pick

IF he had kept his head clean and IF he stayed in school this past year and was 1st Team All ACC again he would have been a top 10 pick

I agree, in the 2006 draft no way is he a first day pick, he just didn't play enough in college to warrant it. In the 2007 draft he would have been a top 10 pick

I'm just not seeing where you are getting this from. Even Kiper himself laughed when Vick said he would be a 1st round pick if he had stayed in school and out of trouble. Kiper rated him as a 3 or 4th rounder as best if he came out next year with a clean record. And all the 'insider' information was along the same lines.

I'm just not seeing it, he just doesn't have the tools. Minus the name he isn't NFL material.

Guess its one of those, 'time will tell things'.

Where did Kiper laugh about that and rate him 3rd or 4th at best in the 2007 draft? You got a link or is it just one of those I got to rely on your word things? You have to realize something about me, I don't put a whole hell of a lot of stock in draft niks, because you have guys saying Ryan Leaf is worth a number 2 overall pick and Tom Brady a number 199 overall

I saw him play live in 7 games during the 2003 (my senior year at Tech) and 2005 seasons

If you need to see video clips, I'll be happy to send it to you. Kid has the deep ball, and the pin point accuracy. He does not have the sick velocity MV1 has but has far better touch

His big problem against both Miami and FSU were our o-line this year was the weak spot in our offense. Both games he had defenders in his face almost immediatly and against Miami our WR'ls were completely locked down by Maxey and Jennings

Against FSU he threw for over 300 yards while facing pressure all game.

The physical tools are all there for him, and had he been able to come back and perform again like he did in 2005 (1st team all ACC) he would have been a 1st round pick in the 2007 draft

Well considering he isn't even being tried as a QB the deep ball and pin point accuracy doesn't do much for me at this point. According to reports from Miami he is being listed as a WR primarily and spent his first day of minicamp exclusively at that position.

http://sports.espn.go.com/nfl/news/story?id=2446261

At this point he'll never play QB in the league, I can gurantee it.

It was during draft day on ESPN when they interviewed him. I could try to find a recap but yeah...its late.
