Just move Beebe to guard??

Fair enough. I just think he's far better at LT now than any one else on the current roster.
Hopefully Riley can sort it out properly.
Solari was bad.
Might be, butt then you take a chance of screwing everything up. Why not take your top 5 OG and your developing OC and build around them?

Good point. I would like to think Riley's familiarity with Beebe will determine his best spot going forward whether center or guard. And on Tyler I'm still of that basic mindset that guards are easier to find than tackles and thought his rookie debut at LT wasnt as bad as some.
And he is better than anyone else at LT right now.
But ultimately, no worries, it will all get sorted out.

With the new coaches here and Coopers former coach here, are there any chances that he gets moved back to guard where we played in college?? If anyone knows how good he was, it would be his former coach!!

LT- Guyton
LG-Smith
C-Hoffman
RG- Beebe
RT- Steele

How sure are we that the cowboys feel like they've invested in the OL in recent years with first round picks, maybe it's time to focus elsewhere. You guys know we're cheap, this could save money in us not bringing in a free agent and having to pay them as well. Please give your thoughts!
♂️depends if the draft a capable Center. Or a stud guard. Like Hoffman at guard. He showed promise. Hoffman all heart

I would say keep beebe where he is. after Tackle, center is the next most important position on the OL and he made great progress. a guard is more easily found than a center.
I would venture to say putting Bass in that spot would be a good option. he is not the strongest, but technical and plays solid with minimal mistakes.

If I would shake up the OL, I would let steele walk. his dead cap and cap savings even out. move Guyton to the right side where he played in college. less pressure on him. Move Smith to LT, where he was very good....and move Bass to his spot, where he is protected between smith and Beebe or go as far as drafting a LT in top 12.... yeah we got guyton last year, but lets not forget, how Tyron solidified the LT for so many years and how important it was to the offense.

if we move Smith out, then draft a guard in the 2nd, 3rd or 4th round. or perhaps sign one in FA......like the guy from AZ who played for Adams. there are a few options available in FA that won't cost much.

Solari was bad.
Possibly, but is it wise to compromise the entire OL, not to mention Tyler's career, by switching him to a position that he'd have a pretty high level of failure?

I know it's become in vogue to say Tyler should be switched to OLT, but just how much research has been done by the people saying it as to the fit?

All valid concerns. I can only hope that this offensive line coach's reputation will be on full display as to who is best at what spot after training camp.
If Tyler stays at guard then, so be it.
A lot of my recent discussion with you on this goes to me believing the LT as being the second most important job on the offense.

The Cowboys now have a seriously injury prone and immobile QB with slow processing and not elite arm talent.
The choices at LT as they currently stand on the roster now have strongly influenced my opinion on this.
That's all really.

Any opinion about leaving Guyton at LT is automatically trashed by me.

I thought his All 22 tape was far better than average and even trending up by the end of his rookie year. He's far superior to Richards who is most likely the next best LT candidate on the roster.

I am not quite confident in Guyton ever developing his feet to be starting on the left side.
:hammer:After watching him get exposed over and over again giving up that inside rush move.....I don't think he's got the mental make up to play period. Never seen a guy make the same mistake over and over again on the pro level like that. You would think he would have been able to make that correction.....but nope.

I definitely noticed that too. Maybe Riley can fix what Solari couldn't.
At least thats the hope I guess.

Not sure a second year of Guyton's left tackle learning on the job will help protect SleepNumbers blindside towards winning games this year.

Now if we just want to lose/tank and get in the Manning sweepstakes for next year then count me in!
