For a guy who is not a football player, Hunt only is 2nd in the history of the NCAA for blocks.
How many passes did he block?

Just think how many kicks Manute Bol could block. Would he play DL like J.J.Watt?

Hunt can't play. He is a 1 dimensional player that can get up nice and tall to block kicks.

He isn't strong enough (in the lower body and with leverage where it matters) to anchor versus the run. And he lacks the agility to have pass rush moves beyond the ole reach and grab.

Comparing him to Von Miller, JJ Watt, even Ansah is ridiculous. All those guys are tremendous natural athletes. Hunt is a really big, stiff white guy with terrible hips and agility. He might be related to me for cripessake.

Hunt should be considered a 3-4 end in my opinion, not sure where these comparisons are coming from. He easily has the frame to add another 10 good lbs too. I think his best asset will be using his strength and quickness to tie up blockers. I can imagine him doing the twist stunt like Justin Smith and eating up 2 blockers every time and giving the OLB a free lane to the QB. He's definitely not going to be a pass rusher himself, and shouldn't be picked as high as he is going to as well.

Hunt is 6'8" and lacks broad shoulders. Very well muscled for his frame already he may not have much room to grow. Especially since he is already 26.

He is a tall athlete. Would have probably been a great basketball player and is truly a great throwing events track athlete but his build is terrible for the NFL.

He'd need to reach 310 or more to be a 3-4 DE IMHO.

I think he is a strongside DE in a 4-3 but not a starter. Likely a kick blocking specialist and depth SS DE.

We took Crawford in r3 and I think Crawford is 100x better.

I know some scouts who agree like Eric Galko and I know other who disagree considering they have round 2 and 3 grades on him.

Guess we'll see.

Margus seems to disagree with you about the bulking up part....said he's weighed 295 before and could add more. Also seems to be just fine as a 3-4 DE as he would like to be in Baltimore.

6'8 300 lbs with very good upper body strength and long arms is just fine as a 3-4 end.

I watched some Mustang games this year and tried to focus in on Hunt, I soon forgot about him as he was just another guy and ended up liking the RB and QB at the end of the day. He has the measurable talent no doubt, he thinks about things and does not react which negates his talent. My take is if I did not know about his talent I would never of put any time on him. I watched three games one was the bowl game where he beat the freshman tackle handily, the other two I had to check that I had the right jersey number. IMO if one of the coaches sees something they can fast track him with learning technique/reaction then go for him, he is like no one else, if not he is everyone else. IMO more people should go to the Mustang games June Jones is a very entertaining coach. Make that offensive coach.

I think the guy has upside, I just don't think he fits our defense necessarily.

Why bring up his skin color? What does that have to do with anything?

because he is a typical stiff white guy. i know. i am also a stiff white guy.

he has terrible lateral quickness, but great straight line speed.

pretty much same as me.

nowadays kids are trained so heavily in agility and lateral quickness but hunt didn't receive that training. he is simply not an NFL caliber athlete.

I think he is an older guy that should have come out last year. He has some elite tools as a 3-4 defensive end, but by the time he figures it out he will be 29. That would be fine if he were a qb that can play till he is 38, but at that position you get 5 good years, IF he develops in another year or 2.

I would not be surprised if Chuck Pagano, Rex Ryan, Dick Lebeau or Wade Phillips turned him into a player. I also would not be surprised if some 43 team with an average d line coach tries to make him a base end and he is out of the league in 3 years.

He's not necessarily stiff. The guy is 6'8", that's going to affect change of direction but his hips ardently nearly as bad as you claim. I'm going to go ahead and guess you aren't nearly the athlete he is, for that matter.
