Would be an easier transition. I think he is a great coach but idk.

Don't see him staying if we force Kiffin out. Only way Marinelli stays is if it is truly KIFFIN'S CHOICE to retire.

What's Rod's feelings on man coverage and blitzing? If its the same as Monte than no thanks.

I disagree, if Kiffin is fired, and Marinelli offered the DC position, he takes it. I'm sure Kiffin would be the first person to want this.
I think Kiffin retires, stays on as a consultant, Marinelli takes over as DC

He doesn't have a choice unless he just retires. Marinelli is still under contract

I would rather keep Marinelli as DL coach and bring in a firey DC that is younger.
Ken Norton would be nice to have back

Maybe Ken Norton can throw the knockout punch on Rocky Balboa tonight...Norton and the Cowboys by KO, Rocky and the Eagles..well, no eye of the tiger tonight..

Usually when you change DC's the position coaches are let out of their contracts. Marinelli would be great if he would take the DC position.

Based on the Bears he is much more likely to press man.

Where the hell do you get this? He never played press man in chicago it was strictly zone all the time & they refused to adjust. I'm from chicago I've had to hear about the lack of adjustment from the zone for the past 4 years or however long he was there. It may have been less Rod more Lovie but I doubt it.

Maybe so but there defense has always been pretty good. If anything they knew how to playthere zone coverage.

That is true, I love rod but I hate that the entire Tampa 2 crew is so stubborn & won't abandon the zone. Give me man coverage with single high safety & I'm good.

I don't think I even want Maranelli at this point. I'd have a hard time bringing anyone back at this point.

Every coach who's had a hand in this defense needs to be given their walking papers.

We thrive in a zone defense, remember when Wade was fired? We played that 3-4 zone D on the fly and generated a bunch of turnovers. Zone is good if it can be taught but I would prefer a combo defense.

I want to find a DC that has never coached football, or been a QC guy at a small school or something. That way he and Garrett can train together. ;)
