how many father/son combinations have won National Championships for the same school? Probably less than a handful, but the Edwards have done it. If the Cowboys draft him, then they may be one of the few, if not the first father/son combo drafted by the same team. Also, I think you are right on Risen Star, I think Witten would be the only player to ever play with a father and his son.

If Edwards can stay under 280 he could be a real steal in the draft. But there is risk here. I doubt he'd be around late third, so maybe late 2nd?

Have to say I'm not enthused by some of the guys the team is bringing in, this guy has motor issues. Just doesn't seem like a Maranelli type.

Yeah, not a fan either. Whatever the opposite of a pet cat is, he's top 5 on my list. Pet Gnat?

Better than the jumping out of the pool guy.

Let the overrating and "he's a beast!" comments fly.

According to Gil Brandt's Pro Day Journal's (on NFL.com), he's now down to 272. He must've heard that he'd get moved to DT if he stays fat.

I like him but not in the second rd this year and would be mad to see him gone in the third. Would be passing on some greater talent(IMO)at higher value slots in the second.

Edwards abused Greg Robinson in the BCS title game of 2013 and ran down Marshall so he couldn't get the edge. He looked like a top 10 pick in that game. He's oustanding against the run, but can he pressure the QB? FSU tried him at DT a bit in pass rushing situations next to Goldman and he really didn't produce last year at DT. Will he keep the weight off? If he does, he could very easily be a steal.

But he has much less risk as a 3-4 DE-at worst he'll be solid at that position. I wouldn't take the chance until the 3rd if I'm Dallas. He'll probably be long gone by then.

Unless they take OO or Preston Smith in the 1st, I think if he is there in the 2nd, they grab him. Met with him at the combine, now workout, plus they know his father and family very well.

How does a small DB create a DL for a son? What kinda genetics Mario Edwards got going on in his gene pool?
