FSU EDGE/DL Mario Edwards Jr. was put through a private workout by the Cowboys and has one scheduled with the Panthers.
Edwards is one of this draft's biggest conundrums, and his projection shows that. Some buzz has linked the defensive lineman in the first round, but that is attributed to "upside" and not his play. Edwards has lost a considerable amount of weightand seems certain to stay on the edge. Apr 1 - 9:22 AM

If Edwards can stay under 280 he could be a real steal in the draft. But there is risk here. I doubt he'd be around late third, so maybe late 2nd?

I have him going to the Ravens in the 2nd to replace Mcphee.......

How does a small DB create a DL for a son? What kinda genetics Mario Edwards got going on in his gene pool?

Maybe he likes 'em big?

I would like drafting Mario Edwards, Jr. in the 2nd or 3rd. Wonder if he could play the 1 Tech DT spot?

apparently he admitted at the combine it was his earing habits that caused him to balloon in weight and he has how stared eating better, hence the loss in weight this off season.

i doubt he will be around at 60

He reminds me a good bit of Marcus Spears in that regard. I recall Bill Parcells enamored with him at the Senior Bowl, even thinking he could stand up and play outside linebacker. Of course, we all saw how the fact he could not stay away from the dinner table affected that.

This would be a big red flag for me. It just shows a lack of discipline, it was not like he was not aware that this was his last year of football in prep to turning professional.

This is actually a very interesting idea. Let the kid balloon up and let him play the 1 tech. Only problem is that I would not even burn a 2nd on someone with motor concerns and lack of discipline (drastic weight changes). He can be disruptive when he wants to be, that's for sure.
