not really, suspending him for being late to meetings would have been petty and viewed as such by players and anyone else we would sign to a similar deal (RMcClain for example). I don't really have a problem with the way it played out, if we were competing for the playoffs, yea, send the message, but in the midst of a lost season, it just seems like false bravado to me.

and that is what makes the criticism so hollow now

he did his part and kept his nose clean and performed on the field

using tardiness to some meetings is some weak sauce

That's why I keep saying we should keep Hardy. He's a clown, but he produces and his issues will make him cheaper.

I was big on the Hardy wagon, but after the season we're hearing signs that he wasnt well liked in the defensive locker room. That's tough to justify at his price.

I'm resigned to the idea we're going to downgrade along the lines of another Mincey and then take DL in the second round.

If that's the case maybe dallas can try again in 2017.

guess I just disagree, didn't really keep his nose clean and didn't perform that well. regardless of how one feel about the current coaching staff, I think anyone knows that to really compete, you need 53 guys pulling in one direction, and having a major part like Hardy either pulling in the opposite direction or not moving at all, holds the team back. And while Garrett is no Bill Belicheck, Bill moved super bowl hero Malcolm Butler to the bottom of the depth chart during the offseason for missing a flight due to weather issues, so do you think Belicheck would be in favor of resigning Hardy if he was routinely late to meetings, no of course not, so I don't really want him resigned.

6 sacks makes it hard to justify anything. 6 sacks and nobody likes him?

Why bother?

In fairness to him, he did occupy a lot of attention when he was in there. But he was obviously a problem for the team. They're gung-ho to bring back Rolando McClain, but aren't making any of the same noises re: Hardy. That pretty much tells me what I need to know.

We've taken too long to rebuild this defense. It probably kept us from advancing in 2014. Now we need to use our biggest resource --the #4 pick--on a QB instead of on a defensive playmaker. It's really frustrating. It kills me that people waste time complaining about RBs or the play calling when we basically were fielding 3/4 of a team, for years, and false started twice with the DC hires. *That's* where the real criticism of the organization belongs, and I don't get why so many posters give it a pass, blame everything else under the sun instead, and then pretend they're being 'realistic' about their team.
