Someone correct me if need be, but I believe they're the only backups to ever make the Pro Bowl.

Not bad company.

It is great company, but those two backs aren't even remotely in the same class...

Barber deserves the Pro Bowl recognition, but it's gonna cost us now...

Good for Barber, his hard work paid off...

Goes without saying. In fact, Jackson went as a backup who didn't play the first 6 games of the season because of baseball.

I was just wondering if there were any other Pro Bowlers who didn't start for their own teams, and Hos came up with that one. Of course, Jackson was backup to a 5-time Pro Bowler, and like I said, didn't show up until week 7. The reasons Barber is a backup aren't quite as obvious.

I thought about it more and I still can't come up with another player who was a backup.

Meggett comes to mind but I would think he made it as a punt/kickoff returner.(assuming he made the probowl)

ST players who make the Pro Bowl aren't backups at the positions they're chosen to the Pro Bowl for.

Adrian Peterson will be the starter in the pro-bowl and is not the starter on his own team.

He started his 8th game (of the 12 he's played this season) last week.

Keep in mind the fans voting only counted 1/3. The players votes and those of the coaches also counted 1/3 each. I assume Barbar got a lot of either players votes or coaches votes or else Barber won't have made the pro bowl.

It's funny to read the Giants fan board and their upset cause so many Cowboys made it. Giants fans attribute to all those Cowboy fans (who they keep calling bandwagoners) voting for their favorite players. They conveniently forget that the players' votes count 1/3, coaching votes count 1/3, and fan votes also count 1/3. So we Cowboy have the right to assume the Cowboys players who the pro bowl got their because a lot of players from other teams and/or a lot of coaches thought many of our guys were among the best.

Frankly, I truly felt Romo, TO abd Witten deserved. I also felt the Cowboy OL did a very good job in many games even while also acknowledging that Romo's mobility made them look even better. But our OL against GB was outstanding; Romo didn't have to move outside the pocket. So I also voted for Adams, Gurode & Davis. I also thought Barber deserved to go (and consider him our starter no matter what our coaching staff thinks) but also voted for Petersen & Westbrook. On defense voted for Ware & Ellis & also Newman. On ST I voted for Folk & McBriar.

Frankly I also think the many games the Cowboys play on television also brings a lot of attention to our players.

Ahhh yes the good old days. To bad the Dallas team sucked. :laugh2:

What do you mean? I always won the Super Bowl with them! :D

Emmitt would have 2,000 yards rushing and Aikman's QB rating would be over 200! :laugh2:

But about 10 games into the season Aikman and Emmitt would be hurt or "Bad" and either the Eagles or Giants would go crazy on me!

:laugh2: Thats hilarious! Brings back some memories.

My personal best was one game against the Bengals. I got out to a couple of quick scores so I went for 100-0. I made in 98-0 late in the 4th quarter but when I scored again it only gave me one point to make it 99-0. :laugh2:

Off the top of my head I'd say Little Joe Morris of the Giants and Both Terry and Eric Metcalf would probably be on that list. I think Jim Otis was the starter in St. Louise, at the time Terry was playing and Kevin Mack in Cleveland when Eric played.

I could get them to the playoffs but get stomped by NY or Philly. :laugh2:

My strategy for Philly was to pick the Cunningham (excuse me, QB Eagles) running play to prevent him from running all over me. I always played as Eugene Lockhart and would finish the season with 40 sacks. Later I learned you could pick up sacks even easier from the DT position.

The Giants offense and defense were beastly in that game.

Washington was surprisingly easy. For some reason they had way too many flea flicker and reverse type plays, which took so long you could wait in the backfield for them to come back around and stop them for a 10 yard loss. :laugh2:

I used to get 50 or 60 sacks with Carl Banks or was it Pepper Johnson each season....blitz straight up the middle every play.....stupid computer :laugh2:
