Hey genius, you know the UT Austin shooter (The tower guy) had an astrocytoma on his brain that caused him to act completely bizarre and erratic, right? When he'd never done so before?

But yeah, obviously it HAD to be drugs.

And the Austin policeman who shot and killed him, was later invited into the Texas Rangers.

Not so sure that's fair to say, it's obvious he is not in a clear mental state and my guess would be he is dealing with brain issues from football, I just pray he doesn't do anything foolish and harm other people.

This attitude reference stems from those found on the 'block.' Then reinforced in the nature of an athlete while playing in college. Add money and notoriety, and those elements explode if not immediately confronted at the start of the NFL careers.

Why do so many pro players do thing like this, go nuts, break the law etc, as a segment of the population it seems to be an occupational hazard.

Don't hear of a plethora of drywall spacklers or electricians beating their wives on tape, getting in strip club parking lot schuffles, or brandishing guns in church.

I think fame and name recognition has something do with why we tend to hear more about these types of things from pro sports athletes or entertainers. There are drywall spacklers and electricians who beat their wives, get in strip club parking lot scuffles and brandish guns in church. That type of thing isn't reported as major breaking news. Domestic abuse certainly isn't limited to any specific walk of life. It can be found in about every class, rank or segment of people you can come up with.

How do young men with millions of dollars and opportunity keep ruining their lives?

This seems like a different kind of case. Just doesn't make sense all the way around unless he has some sort of mental illness.

It is more likely hero worship enables narcissistic behavior.

Stop being ignorant... Obviously effects from too many hits to the head....

Your reply seems equally as ignorant as the post you commented on. At this point, with no further facts or information regarding the cause or potential reasons for his seemingly diminished mental state, to say that it is "Obviously" anything is simply irresponsible.

Someones butthurt.

You dont carry a loaded firearm into a church with 3 magazines and speak in tongue when youre sober.

you do if you're insane.
which was the point.
you are ASSUMING he was high and others are ASSUMING he is nuts.
equally as assuming EXCEPT we've heard for years Barber was having mental issues.

no, it isn't more likely.
simple math (and criminal stats) suggest the majority of these incidents are in fact committed by average citizens and we do not hear of them.

hero worship creates a set of unrealistic expectations for sure but no where near explain this type of completely abnormal nothing to gain behavior.

And it could also be a combination of both. Someone with mental illness could turn to drugs to help cope with life. Recreational drugs(even some prescribed drugs) and mental illness can sometimes wreak havoc on a person. No one knows Barber's exact situation. Everything is speculation at this time. I speculate it is related to a mental health issue, but I would not be shocked if drugs were involved. I hope he gets the help he needs.

No doubt. Merely pointing out the obvious:
Statistically the percentage of drug users that carry guns into church is far lower than the percentage of crazies that do.
I have zero doubt most NFL players self medicate with weed.
But guys like QCar were just mentally unstable/depressed people that did drugs not sane druggies.
Links now are showing taking hits to he head from football can cause this mental depression and various other mental acuity issues.
That's why the NFL can't settle those lawsuits fast enough.
Brains weren't meant to be scrambled repeatedly.

Sounds like the one hitting a woman in an elevator is a nobody, or the one who thinks fame puts them above the law.

And it is pure naivety or denial to act like the general population of employed hardworking people have as large a per capita issue of substance abuse/ domestic abuse as professional athletes exhibit.
