I hope no one takes offense to this but Jones has what I refer to as a prison build. He is all upper body and has chicken legs. When I worked in the prison we would have these inmates that could bench press a house but thier legs looked like twigs. JJ needs to work on his legs this off season IMO.
Those chicken legs are where the speed comes from.
Add bulk to the legs and you will slow down significantly.

MB3 hasn't shown a 4th of the ability that JJ has shown in game production yet many here are ready to call him a HOFer already.

You should look at the O-Line instead of the RB.

Don't get me wrong. I am a JJ fan. I just think he does need to work on his leg strength. He needs to be able to break a few tackles. JMO

Breaking a few tackles has more to do with heart then doing more squats in the offseason.

Yes I said it. I just think Marion runs harder and slips tackles better and is stronger than Julius is right now. I hated seeing JJ stacked up for loss and or no gain yesterday. Marion to me just seems the better all around RB at this point in the year. He catches better and sure as heck blocks better.

Julius does bring us that home run threat but let us not remember that Barber to isnt some old mare. The kid can hit another gear when the hole is open. Barber just seems more polished and does more w/ the ball when given the opportunity. I know he has a slight tendancy to boggle the ball but so did Jones last game.

Thoughts? And - NO - you cant attack me in this thread or I will have Hostile and Juke both ban you. Thats a double ban. Thats nothing to mess with. ;)

Welcome to the club......US MARION BARBER supporters have known this for a long time.

Yes I said it.

And YES (just for you), you were/are wrong.

If you had said "Marion Barber III > Julius Jones near the goalline" then I'd agree with you.

Those Chiocken legs are aslo responsible for his terrbile weakness inbetween the tackles.

He hits the hole and falls flat on his butt.....On the other hand BArber he hits, bites or does everything in his power to not only find the hole but to get those extra yards needed.

Being the son of one of theese guys you may not care what I think.

But I think its time to swallow some pride and use each where they excel. Goalline, short yardage, and 3rd downs, MB3.

Crunch time, hold onto the ball, home run threat, sweeps, draws, counters, JJ.

Having 2 different backs is a good thing. We really have to get some kind of blocking though.
Lets raid (SP) the Broncos coaching staff

Wait a minute, who's the one with the chicken legs? To me, Barber's legs look smaller then JuJo's.

And since when does big legs slow you down? Tell that to Herschel Walker or Willie Gault.

Or Maurice Green or Ben Johnson. Strength in your legs can make you faster if you build the muscle properly.

I still think Barber should get more runs....

JJ and Crunch time do not go....Last time we let JJ get us that 1 freaking yard he wobbled his was to negative yardage.

I dont yet trust MB3 with the ball in crunch time, that fumble in the Philly game is stuck in my mind.

They both do different things well...For me, the difference maker is that JJ has game breaking potential...I always prefer giving the defense a few extra things to worry about.

Thats just it exactly.
JJ is not a pound it straight forward runner. He's elusive and VERY fast with homerum potential.
MB3 could pound out small gains all day but I bet MB3 will never go house as a result of his elusiveness. Someone would have to miss an assignment.
JJ however may have 5 poor runs but on his 6th, top MB3s yardage on an entire drive.
Its all about the blocking and I agree MB the 4th's suggestion to use both to their best abilities when able to.

Actually, I know its Arizona, but MB3 broke several tackles on his way to what I think was the longest run all year.

Hes not going to outrun anyone to the corner and take it to the house Reggie Bush style, but he can run over some safeties on his way to a nice gain

At this point in time, I would prefer to see Barber in there than Jones. Last season, Jones forte was his speed and cutting ability, however, I haven't seen much of either one of those this year, and I'm talking about even before his high ankle sprain, too.
