5:25 p.m. - With so much attention going to Micah Parsons and Osa Odighizuwa on Dallas' pass rush, Carl Lawson has had opportunities to take advantage of his matchups - and he's done so.

"I think yesterday he played his best game he's played, he had a couple nice rushes..." Defensive coordinator Mike Zimmer said. "He's doing better, we're working on his angles and trying to get his angles better, and I thought yesterday was much better."

On Sunday against the Panthers, Lawson tallied his fifth sack of the season - tying him for second on the team with DeMarvion Overshown.

Lawson, when healthy can play and we can bring him back fairly cheap.that could give us a solid rotation on the edge next year

we are so much better on the edges than in the middle. We MUST have a top NT to really make this defense capable of going the distance.

I struggle with this too. I think he plays more like a MLB, and hes listed at 6'2" 239lbs which isn't bad size at all, but he doesn't look it on the field.
239 is a stretch. He looks closer to 230 but some dudes just carry the weight different. In any case, he looks like a big safety out there. Obvious comparison is Troy P. I’d try to use him as a rover in certain packages next season. But Zimmer won’t…he likes small LBs.

DT was a problem in camp and they did nothing. If we would just buy one stud DT and keep one of our FA then it could be a game changer. Good DT are hard to draft and slow to develop, especially picking in middle of first rnd
