Put it this way, Troy never had announcers going "I wonder which Aikman shows up today. If he can start okay and get hot early, the Bears might have a chance to win".
I can honestly say I have not seen more inept quarterbacking produce 13 wins before.
Grossman had games with QB ratings of:
98.6 - vs GB 8-8
148.0 - vs DET 3-13
69.5 - vs MIN 6-10
100.5 - vs SEA 9-7
101.2 - vs BUF 7-9
10.2 - vs AZ 5-11 (yes, that's not a typo, it really is 10.2)
137.4 - vs SF 7-9
36.8 - vs MIA 6-10
105.7 - vs NYG 8-8
81.4 - vs NYJ 10-6
23.7 - vs NE 12-4
1.3 - vs MIN 6-10 (yep again not a typo)
114.4 - vs STL 8-8
104.3 - vs TB 4-12
80.4 - vs DET 3-13
0.0 - vs GB 8-8 (how in the heck do you get a zero rating? Go 2 of 12 with 3 INTs, that's how.)
On the season he had a 73.9 rating, that's 25th in the league among QBs who played in at least 10 games.
Only 3 games were against teams with winning records and only in one of those did he have a rating of over 100.
He has a 75.4 rating in the playoffs this year with 76.9 (vs SEA) and a 73.2 (vs NO) ratings in their two games. Not exactly lighting it up.
Interesting to note that Tony Romo is the highest rated QB in this year's playoffs. Just sayin z'all...
We are not impressed. Grossman has to be the most erratic QB I've seen in a long time. In all honesty, he reminds me of Quincy Carter in a lot of ways, can make great throws and be on fire one game and completely out of it the next, making stupid plays the next game.
Aikman was nothing if not consistent and accurate. If Mooch wants to compare Grossman with a former Cowboys QB it should be Carter.
