Moments ago, Mark Schlereth and James Hasty anointed the New York Giants the "third best team in the NFL behind New England and Indianapolis."

Allow me to incapsulate their logic. The Giants have the second-best record in the NFL at 5-2. Not only do both the Cowboys and Packers have better records at 6-1; both have beaten the Giants this year. Yet, the Giants are better, according to pundits at ESPN.

Furthermore, desite the Cowboys' penchant for bludgeoning and eviscerating opponents this year, ESPN is quick to remind us how soft Dallas schedule has been. Yet, for some reason, this same argument doesn't apply to the Giants. They've beaten dregs such Falcons, Niners, and Jets, but ESPN can't seem to give enough commentary on their dominance.

Here's to a Dolphin victory in England!

Oh I know. I pointed something similar the other day and how they keep saying how great the giant D is. It's funny I suppose because they guys change their tune as the wind blows.

Schelereth said before the season that the Giants would be abysmal.

Basically, all they do is just look at the standings. See who has the longest win streaks in the league, and then rank the teams in order.

They flip flop every week based on who loses and wins.

dont let it bother you man, the more we win the more analysts will look for ways to use the teams brand name to pull viewers in that manner.

all the schedule talk is ridiculous. Watch the games on sunday, there is a wide margin in this league right now. You have two elite complete teams in indy and the pats...then you have a tier of teams who are good teams like Dallas, Green Bay, Pittsburgh, Jacksonville, giants and Commanders.

Then there are those few teams who are hard to figure out like Tampa, detroit, denver and kansas city.

then there are the rest. All missing something crucial and for most of them its a qb or a pass rush.

so comparing teams based on schedule is hard to do because so many teams are playing weak teams each week.

I tend to agree....I think the Giants are slightly better than the boyz. But I feel like that will change.

I think Schlereth's excessive use of hair gel is seeping into his brain via osmosis and destroying what little remains of its synaptical connections.

The Giants maybe one of the hottest teams in the league right now. Their DL is just dominating everything in the way even though it has been weaker opponents thus far.

I think the Giants game in NY is a huge game and it has me a little spooked. They seem to be playing lights out right now.

Don't think you can say they are better then the teams that have beaten them but I think the reason these guys can make a case is because of how poorly the Pack and Boys have looked in the last couple of weeks while the Giants have been on a pretty good roll.

Be a huge game in New York. I think that Game goes a long ways in deciding the Division winner.

I just don't see how and we beat them...

Sports analysts have a short attention span.

If you look at the past 2-3 weeks (and only at the past 2-3 weeks), the Giants have looked quite impressive.

This is what I say as well. Forget about everything these talking heads say.

We need to handle our business in Cowboy world, and if we do that and come out on top at the end, then we laugh last.

I M with u Mansta! It's like OMGz!!1!1! Me either! We just CAN'T score more points than them, and our team suXorz! It's like IDk, maybe we can hope to contain Ellie Manning. They are the l34tZ0r team and we are just pr3t3ndorz!

/end script kiddie sarcasm. :laugh2:

Schlereth was the guy on the America's Game series who said he sharted and pee-peed on himself during games intentionally, and then he'd just clean it up during halftime or after the game.

I wouldn't be surprised if he was sharting himself as he gave this 'analysis'. Then he'd have had it coming outta both ends.

Once again, I ask....who cares what espn thinks............really.

They have lost to the only good teams they have played....lucky to beat the 'skins. Have beaten really bad teams as of late. WOW! I am impressed.

just my gut feel...I think that will change...but I think if they lined up and played right now they would have a slight edge...remember Umenyoria went out....Strahan was no where near game shape...Brandon Jacobs went out...not saying we did not deserve to win, but things have changed since then and their defense is playing a lot better

I have high hopes that our defense will get better once we can employ our full personell...if we can hold good offensive teams to 21 points I think this team is Super Bowl bound. We have young legs on defense...and Wade is rotating them to keep them fresh...and we hear he is not overworking them during the week...this December should be far different. The return of Ellis should allow Spencer to give D Ware a blow durning the game so he can pin his ears back during the 4th quarter...we can get better on defense and I fully expect to.

In what way?

Their record?

Their game against the Cowboys?

Their standing in NFCE?

But how about TNew, TG, missing and Fergy only played a series or two. I thinks thats just as important and can't be overlooked...

Plus it was the first game and Dallas had a new defense and coaching staff. Surely that needs to be considered.
